Have you had it checked at the doc.Could be carple tunnel which affects the nerves going to your hands. My left hand used to go completely numd after 10 minutes riding so I got used to riding one handed.Lucky it wasn't the throttle.
Any way after being on the waiting list for a looooooooong time I got chopped last year and that seems to have fixed it.
PS Welcome and don't take any notice of the occassional wierd post on kb.

I get that. Depends on the bike though - when the bars are very low and weight is on them it's choronic. The SV is good because I'm a little more upright than say for instance when I rode the CBR250rr.

I just give them a shake out when I can though check your gloves. Mine had shrunk a little and my fingers were hard up against the ends of the gloves it was REALLY bad.

Other than that just do lots of hand and wrist exercises to try to build strength in them oh and don't let your wrists get fat?! When I was preggers I got these pins and needles all the time (wasn't riding) but apparently the fatness of my wrists was impeeding the blood flow.

WATCH OUT FOR WEIGHT GAIN IN YOUR WRISTS MAN

You will get pins'n'needles if you're holding the bars too tight; try to relax your grip. Also, hard grips or too thick padding in your gloves can do this, as can excessive handlebar vibration (easily cured by adding heavier bar-end weights, or sticking sand or lead shot inside the bars).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Apart from the above mentioned things i also found this a problem with my new gloves, found the wrist strap was too tight (not the cuff strap)

All good advice here, I will go for posture on the bike adding to the mix and adding to the problem. Too much weight resting on the balls/heels (what the hell do you call the bottom of your hands anyway?) will not help circulation to the rest of your hands. Raising the bars up a fraction may help the posture a bit and stop weight from bearing on down on the bits of your hands yet to be named.

Aaah yes, mom's onto it, silly me forgot, sports bike riding style, use your abs/stomach muscles/torso (or throttle if you prefer) to keep weight off of your wrists and handle bars, sports bikes aint cruisers

(if you're going to lift the bars buy a cruiser :P )

I suffer pins and needles and white finger even when driving or asleep (well I would be asleep but the pins and needles wake me up). For me it's not a vibration issue or temperature related but someone did say I should be checked for Raynauds syndrome.

Ain't been brave enough to investigate further but Googling it scares the hellout of me. My fingers go blue.

Check out the M109R... I moved from sportsbikes to this because it is far more comfortable on the wrists, hips, back etc... easy to ride as long as you are 6ft+ and it has tons of "up and go" torque and an ass phatter than your mother in laws sunday best trousers.

Yeah I have RSI or OOS in both my arms so i have to be quite careful what i do because when it gets as advanced as mine is it can be quite painful.
Where do you get it? is it in the ends of your middle fingers? or all of them? do your hands get cold, do your forearms hurt at the elbow joint. all these thing will help identify what type of OOS (occupational overuse syndrome) if you have any questions PM me I know a reasonable amount about it as i have suffered it for around 10 years, and i will try to help out the best i can.
