    Vid of easter ride

Decided I couldn't waste easter sunday so.....

    23 Mar 2008 - Easter fang part 1 - Heading North

Something seems to be wrong with my speedo but I'm positive I didn't go over 102km/h at any point.

More to come once it finishes encoding and uploading.........

The link is better quality but for those that prefer embedded players

    You're telling me!

I've never had such a clear ride up there and when I came across cages they were just before passing spots

Part 2 and 3 are uploading now but at 50meg each they'll take a while. Even encoded with Xvid and mp3 they're still big files.

Part 4 and 5 will have to wait for another day. Have mocked them up but have to run them through virtualdub yet.

Great videos Disco. Love that road. Such a shame that that 4WD was on the 35k corner on video 1 - that is my favourite corner and hate a car on it just whan I'm coming up.

Brilliant ride. i'm getting a cam too soon and will take some footage of my own What camera are you using ?

O and why dont you use YouTube ? Is this website better to use than YouTube ? Never done much video uploading myself.

Yeah dude killed me. Got a cage through there on the way back too

Still plenty of other corners out there.

It's just a Sony DSC-W80 with a 4gig card. Nothing flash. Gets about 40mins of 640x480 video on it. Planning to get some trackday footage

The trick is getting a mount that works ok. I'm using a ram mount. Planning to shoot a vid of how it works tonight so will PM you the link.

I will probably upload to my YouTube account as well. Just haven't got around to it. Livevideo is better quality I reckon plus it's way more of a community.

When you get started let me know as there's some tricks to getting the file size down and doing the speedo blur etc.

LiveVideo is far better quality than Youtube, and has an already solid motorcycling video logging community. You can get away with using almost any video camera that does 25/30fps at less than 640x480, 320x240 can be fine too and gives you a lot more time to play with (if you have the batteries for it!).

I'm loving your vids by the way disco :P I love it when NZ vloggers stumble upon LV! It makes me feel less lonely We should catch up for a ride some time, would be quite interesting to see two honda's with helmet cam on one and tank cam on the other! (though you'd have to wait for me to catch up quite a lot hehe).

    Thanks mate

Been cool checking out yours since I found you on there as I don't go east/south much. Totally different parts of the city/country that I normally wouldn't see.

Agree we should go for a burn and get some footage. You can show me round the Hunua's

No way would I be waiting for you on the mighty bird. I'm not quick by any stretch of the imagination. If I kinda know a road sure but new roads I'm a nana - especially all those narrow ones with psycho corners and questionable surface like Twilight

We'll have to see on that one :P My cornering slows down considerably with the mediocre helmet cam, so maybe I should invest in the ramsolutions mount you have, keep the clutter out of my helmet.

I just have one question on it, how do you fasten it on the bolty thing on the yoke? Do you have to unscrew anything or does it just clamp on some how? I'm thinking of heading up to Cycletreads tomorrow to see what I can find (and perhaps a cup holder too, just so I can go through drive throughs and order combos! )
