    well
the hills at night are fun, with experiance, daunting when new,
thats why I suggested lower styx road for a quiet ride,
twisty enough for the 250's to enjoy, a pub at the end and well lit roads home at the end.
but yeah that summit road has always been a really good ride, day or night

Then this week might be the last chance to do it on a Wednesday evening before the darkness closes in.

Yes, of course I remember those. That was for one short stretch, on one ride, in a 50km zone, before you overtook and carried on at a brisker pace than my 250 could manage. I wouldn't say that counts for too much in the grander scheme of things, would you? I meant that both you and dangerous are happy to tell me all about my 'ability' level, without having actually ridden with me for any decent stretch any time recently. I know I haven't been riding all that long when compared with you guys, but you prejudge without seeing for yourselves. I'm really not quite as bad as you might think... I've seen a few guys trying much harder to arse up, that's for sure!

It's not a big a jump as many have made... and about the same as the majority have made. That, and it's different for everyone. I've found it to be great so far, docile enough, but enough horse power when you mean it to make you pay attention to what you're doing. I remind myself every time I go out on the ZX-6R that it's not the NZ250 and to think accordingly.

Your bike doesn't have as much HP as mine? Hmm. Specs says that mine supposedly makes 107hp @ 12000rpm (at the flywheel). Since when did a tractor need 100hp huh?! Just pissing with ya of course, I'd quite like a crack on a Guzzi...

Just for you dangerous I will repeat what I was trying to get through.. ready?

If you feel strongly about the route, then by all means come along tomorrow instead of everyone getting the wrong end of the stick on here. Yes I personally find your pearls of wisdom lacking, but I'm sure there are some people who think you are the founder of all knowledge so talk to them.

    See you tomorrow night then

Well Dev, last WNR I believe you nearly kissed the front of an oncomming car, and was passing passing in a 50k zone with SFA visability... think about it.

your bike 107hp and about 200kilos... mine 83hp and 1/4 of a ton, and ill ride the arse off bikes with twice the power to weight ratio, do you get what Im saying yet?

Night ya all Im buggered see yas's on line tomorow.

PS: fireliv... Im not even going to bother.

Not too sure where you got that from - I had no such incidents, nothing even remotely close to that kind of thing - I had a good ride and didn't have any incidents or close calls. If someone told you about that, I'm sorry, but I don't think it was me.

Course, I've got what you're saying the whole way through. I know yours makes less hp and weighs more (stats page I looked up says 91hp... what you been feeding yours?! ), but they're actually not too far apart (107hp vs 91hp but 50% more torque, 226kg dry vs 203kg). Difference is the Kwaka doesn't make much in the lower half of the rev range and only gets cranking if you're willing to rev it, i.e. ask it to get going, on account of having much less torque than the Guzzi... and I haven't revved it that hard yet. I'm careful to keep it sensible until I get used to it. Have a go on it one day if ya keen, it's pretty docile.

You dont remember the BIG right hander after the turn off to living springs... then a short straight to a leftie, well you passsed on that straight and from what I hear it was close as you aborted and pulled back in, maybe you made it but either way it was close.

Oh yeah, I remember that - I was overtaking Rashika coming into that 70km/h stretch up the hill. There were two ugly bugly 4WDs in front of her, and I overtook one of those in the same stretch as overtaking her, but I knew I wouldn't have enough room to overtake the 2nd one before getting too close to the corner, so I came back into the left lane, splitting the two 4WDs. It wasn't an aborted maneuver, I did it exactly as I planned... and there still wasn't anything coming the other way when I pulled back into the left lane - something might've come around the corner afterwards though. I can understand it might've looked like a close call, but from what I remember it wasn't. There wasn't much room between the two 4WDs, for sure, but there was enough, and the one I had passed saw what I was doing and made sure I had room - nice gesture from the driver.

We're not thinking your as bad as you may believe or nor are we doubting your abilities. As it is one doesn't have to travel countless kms to gauge what another rider is like, but watching you through that area did show me what I told you in that PM and as a point of safety for yourself it's something you have to work on.

Remember it was me who got you in contact with Nudez to get the NZ firstly, ironed out some of the issues with it, spat the dumby at the others on the 1st ride you were taken on and left to fend for yourself instead of being kept close, got you parts for zip when you binned. So never think I'm trying to shoot you down, I've got your best interests at heart

It's just a shame that because of my work schedule & only being a 3 man team at work, and due to time & distance to actually get to a WNR regularly is an impossibility.

One bearing on what D & I try to get through to the WNR regulars is prior to these happening there have been quite a few posted & non posted rides all in the same areas almost without mishaps yet once the WNRs came along the mishaps have increased in regularity.

As for riding any particular distance with you, I'll be in touch soon about mapping out a route for a group ride particularly aimed at the newer riders & smaller capacity bikes and it'll be a bit further afield than around the playground

I got a little wet. Bloody good fun though, a dirt track through a forest, in the dark with a light on your head in the pouring rain with lightning flashes every few minutes.

    Good stuff!!

Anyway, we'll decide on the route depending on whos there tomorrow.

Also, at the risk of starting a squabble (would rather not), just because you (and dangerous) are very experienced does not mean you are somehow transformed into biking gods, making your opinions any more valid than the rest of ours. We're all here to ride our own ride - hell, that's why we ride bikes - not to be told where to ride and how to do it.

You and dangerous (are the main antagonists, but there are and always will be others) are at great pains to remind some of us that we're inexperienced and seemingly know nothing, totally at odds to the fact that I've ridden with neither of you recently, in any kind of setting. dangerous reckons I've bitten off more than I can chew with the ZX-6R, and you reckon I won't listen to a word you say, and keep trying to make me eat humble pie. Well guess what? While I'm not as experienced as you, nor am I a baby and I don't expect to be treated as such just for being younger, which I suspect is the main reason - you see me as a kid.

I've heard riding advice from all directions, and when your a learner people try to HELP you become a good and safe rider so deal with it. Dont take the defense that you know it all better than those who have been doing what we're all doing for a hell of a lot longer than you, think it's called ignorance. Im half D's age (hehehe sorry ya old fart) as well as others, and I dont see it as being treated as a kid, just friends that dont wanna see their friends in a coffin.
I've done alot of riding with the 'main culprits' of all this bitching, get scorned for doing stupid passes, riding over the centre line, little things we all do, and im glad they do its made me a better/safer rider. It doesnt mean smile, nod and do everything your told, even just gives you something to think about.. nor are they trying to say they're perfect, so why take such offense?
Why not prove your not a kid, if you choose not to take a piece of advice its not an issue we dont all need to hear about it.
"not to be told where to ride and how to do it". sounds like a rebellious teenager. famous last words dont you think?

More docile than phoenix's machine... having ridden his bike from the Wheatsheaf to Little River, there's a smallish but quite noticeable difference between the two machines, engine response wise. Partially his aftermarket end can, but also his being in a better state of tune - it just goes better than mine, and I definitely had to respect it, more so than I have to with mine. My carbs are in need of a bit of a tune and perhaps a clean too (excuse for new end can, anyone? ), they're a bit fluffy and annoying under about 7000rpm. It's a bit of a pain actually, it faffs around a bit if there aren't enough revs on the clock!

Sorry, will let you go to bed!
