    Whanga Pub roadside repairs

Well the local crew & I had a ride out to Whanga Pub today so chucked the wifey on the back of the Aprilia so started to head out there abit before the others , coming off the first Stratmore saddle bike started to sound like the header was starting to come loose as it was chuffing then all hell broke loose with lose of power & motor not sounding to well . Hit the Kill switch & check the oil light but that was not on but had a pretty good Idea what had happend . The twin plug head had poped one of the plugs out & was sitting in the HT lead against the head BUGGER !!!!! Had torqued it to correct setting when last replaced so not sure why it has come loose . Mate pulls up beside me & gives me plenty of shit about Italian bikes which was nice LOL . So out come the tool kit & up with the tank but I didn't have a 7mm socket to reach down & get the bolts out that hold the top of the airbox on mate get has kit & yeppy lid off then the base & next to find a sprakplug key that fitted my plug another mate had that as mine had gone walk abouts . dropped plug back into head retightend it chucked it all back together & back onto the Pub . Get their & mates had set up a Bar tab for me to pay for their drinks as they had all lent me some bits & had stopped to help $46 was cheap to get the RSVR going again & not have to trailer it back home Tool kit now has everything it didn't have before now even if I may never think It may get used because you may just have to one of these times . All in all a bloody cracker of a day & ride in & out . Bike will get a big check over tomorrow to see if anthing else may be loose . Still got me there & back so Calm was restored

Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

    Bloody great day for ride.

Left for work at 9.00,the ride was good and cruisy albeit 30km long lol.Didn't mind working with a nice ride to start the day, mind you when I got to Stratford was tempted to not stop.

Had thought of going home grabbing the other half and trekking out to Whanga after lunch, but seeing as the drought has broken(sort of)and lawns not attempted to be mown for 6-8 weeks, thought better trim them, only thing about daylight saving ending is it's dark when ya get home during the week ,for lawn mowing.

Good to see no major probs with the beast.

    Shit Sensei,
that seems like a weird occurance. How does a torqued plug come loose? Vibes and pressure I s'pose.
Glad it didn't ruin the day.

Plugs got taken out today as did everything else on the bike to recheck things . Retorqued to 20Nm which is per the book which isn't very much when you do them up but not wanting to strip the head thats all they got . Threads where fine as where the other 3 plugs & excellent colour clean the K/N filter which was very dirty & reset mixturs & ECU trimpots . Bike has had some very hard runs what with the Drags a month ago a few group rides . May have to check them abit more than evey 6000ks from when I put them . Must remember to put air in my TTR600s tyres too Thanks John felt much better .

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
