you got accurate dimensions of what you need? if we dont have it sitting around in the workshop i can probably lathe one up for ya.
Yup, there is a washer that acts as a spacer just outside the speedo gearbox where the wheel actually connects to the gearbox (and onto the cable and so on). The spacer got grounded down so much that the part that connects to the wheel doesn't engage and therefore no reading.

    Washers dimensions:
Diameter of inside hole = 2006 20cent coin (no shit.)
Total diameter of washer = 13.5cm
Thickness it needs to be: 2006 10cent coin (again, how convenient!)

    Is it do-able?

    You know what I'd do!!
I don't want anything that records my top speed lol, Imagine what the parents would say if they saw that!
Tempting though... might invest if it craps out again.

Well it looks like I'm able to come on this trip! Spent a while at Hubba Gubba's place tonight and the bike is pretty much back to normal! (Thanks so much Nick). All it needs now is a indicator cover and it'll be perfect again! Well... except for the huge scrape on the left hand side, but... chicks dig scars? Haha.

But if it's raining I'll probably pull out...

I've learned quite a lot since my first one and I think my uphill skills have increased too, but we will see on this trip weather I know it well enough to lead a ride.
And you would be more than welcome to come Toto, maybe you could be TEC or we could swap bikes again

I might chuck out a thread when we get back looking for interest, it would be sweet to have a line of GN's weaving through the twisties
