Nah - she's good lookin' but not that type of PR girl - she organised and ran the event.

I quite like the look of the bike too. See it with a good rider on board and it looks OK.

I'm too big for it, but it has some nice enough lines on the road.

How it goes makes all that moot anyway.

He's wanted to build this bike for 20 years.

Yep, a rider on board might bring the proportions together a bit more.

I can just imagine Eric's eyes lighting up when they were given the nod for the Rotax donk. Nothing against the Harley derived engine but horses for courses.

    Shame about the PR chick.......

NZ like conditions with more reliable road surfaces than here.

Mine was the first in line.

I also got to play his guitar in the terminal at Albury airport while we waited for a flight. A mazing.

    Some show it was too.

We arrived at the wind tunnel at Monash University in Melbourne on Monday night and there is Erik sitting on the machine with the whole tracer smoke thing happening - and it got better from there.

Erik & the H-D Aus boss in the truck - carting all our stuff, three techs from the factory in one van, wonderful PR girl, video and still photogs in another van, HDA's road captains and 16 journalists on 1125r's (and a Firebolt that the staffers shared)

2 days riding around the empty roads over and around the base of the Great Dividing range.

What a machine. I didn't quiz all of them but I'd say look forward to some very positive reviews from down under.

I didn't take many photos - they will be supplied - download what I have shortly.

I asked Erik for a quote for posting online and he said:

    'Save me from this madman.'

    We had some fun.
fuck it, I was IN Melbourne on Monday night. I could have been your +1. (maybe a Kiwirider fake ID)?

Yeah, talked to Pete about it Thursday. He was pleased as punch to get one of 5 only for NZ at the moment and said it couldn't have gone to a better chap.

You enjoy that bike Jason. It's a beauty. And don't you dare throw it over the side of the hill.

Tell me though - I reckon it'd be like a Firebolt with an RSV-R motor in it. Would I be right?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I'd love to but won't be able to. I was in there on Wednesday with a workmate - we took the gixxer thou and the B-King out. I happened to enquire when he would have an 1125R in, and Pete informed me the closest I'd get to a test ride was to have a stare at your one, on the grounds that I didn't drool over it...

Anyway, got all four kids to look after the next week (school hols and all that - and two I don't see too much so I'll make the most of it) so the chances of me getting near a bike shop is pretty piss poor.

I'll live vicariously through your posting on the ride though - you have a good one tomorrow on the hill. I'll look up wistfully tomorrow morning from my back yard (I live in Wallaceville, Upper Hutt) and think of you.

    lucky bastard.
