Yeah the guy in the line in front of me was back for his re test. Having failed it a few weeks back. Not head checking. Incorrect lane position, on a consistent basis, and went over the speed limit and over the margin that they use...


So at least it proves that it does happen on occassion.

Well done,told ya the ewe turns were a piece of piss for aussies.

When I did my test(wheel just invented)the cop took me round the block,practiced the u turn as a mate had to do it,he told me where the cop would take you,which was in country area at a T intersection,did complete circle without foot touching ground.Could go as fast as required.

The good news with being mature is ya don't have a huge wait till full comes along.

Did my restricted today, was pretty easy. The guy only gave me 93% though! He said somthing about being too far too the right, the road code said ride in the right hand wheel track though.

Also I missed some of his directions, he was pretty ambigous though saying go right at the next left? what does that mean? he wanted me to go left it seems!

Can you do a course to lower your restricted licence period to only 3 months can you? I've had my learners for about 3-4 years so it would be handy to get my full a bit sooner. Is it very expensive? Does it affect it if you've had a few fines?

Over 25, and do a advanced riding course, from a registered provider, or through LTNZ. Pass that and take the certificate with you. And you can sit the full after 3 months. Don't do the course and it's 6 months on Restricted for over 25's

Course costs will vary depending on the provider. The one I am going on is about $130.00 for the day. Then there is the cost of the test to add on top of that. But entirely worth it to get the Full without having to wait the whole period of time...

And no the defining thing for the period to be shortened is AGE,completion of an advanced course, and the time of 3 months....Fines don't come into the equation

I sat my restricted yesterday as well, after 5 years as a learner..
I donned my L plate for 2 hours yesterday ..gay !
Can someone tell me how long you have to be on your restricted for before sitting your full ?
Can you do a defensive driving course and get it down ?

"Gay" as you put it is not having your L-plate on and having to pay $400.00 when you get caught..unless of course you have the money to waste like half the idiotic population that think they can flaunt the laws and get away with it, cause it's only a fine.....

Good call,that's why so many people owe $$$in fines.

As an aside you would think that having got to learner stage of the license you would know the requirements to get restricted,then full license eh.

Simple really if you don't know what time frame or can /can't do on the license you have,maybe you don't deserve one.

Common sense really,when I got my bike license I knew the restrictions on pillion,speed,and how long it took to become full,albeit only 12 months in those days,unless a defensive course was done and passed.

I didn't quite make 10000.... also 9 and some change. Sat mine at Kilbirnie today. Awesome feeling alright!!
