The point I was trying to make is that people will judge a bunch of KBers based on their exposure to the group so people in different areas are likely to have different opinions of the whole.

Then I mentioned how the SkidMarks and Mormon Few make us all look a bit silly

Only really bikers that know of this site..........I'd never heard of it until I started biking and started looking up some info on my bike......although I was a bit timid of joining as I wasn't sure what kinda site it was! So maybe Slightly intimidated would be a good public perception?

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Its something about the internet that makes people talk shit.
In my job I talk to a huge amount of bikers. And I can usually tell the KBers pretty easily.
Just by the way they talk to everyone and the ideas about bikes and riding they have.

Im not saying its a bad thing, im just stating thats its pretty clear if your a KBer or not.

So often I get learner riders coming in asking about "top speeds" and knee down round the outside of cars etc. I then ask if they know KB... the answer is usually yes.
These learners look at the things people write on here and take it all in as they THINK the experienced riders here are god!
But some shouldnt be taken too seriously as we do tend to "joke" around a fair bit.

From what I've seen/heard, KB is generally viewed (from non KB members) as a bunch of try hard wannabes that need to log off, get out of the house and ride their bikes more often. Also seen as a bunch of crash test dumbies...
In some cases I think they are right

We had a poll on the last manawatu ride and it was clear that the manwatu riders are much better looking than the hawkes bay crowd.

Thats just not true. I was coming home this morning at 240km/hr on one wheel (the front one cause wheelies kill trees) and as I turned into my driveway I didnt get my knee down...............................

Your lucky then! Cause often you can push your knee down so hard that your knee grips and you loose the front. Then you would have to pull and Edwards and pick it up with your elbow!

I think KB demonstrates mankind's capacity to take anything positive, useful and potentially revolutionary and turn it into a secondary school playground.

The Jocks (The racers), The Goths (The 250 riders - bunch of emotards), The Christian Youth Group (The BABs), and the Geeks have taken over and anyone with an opinion, or even a smart mouth comment that takes the piss out of the 4 lead cliques risks being threatened in public and will most definitely find that most KBers express surprise that their KB persona has marred their meatspace welcome from the aggrieved party.

Any public reputation is earned. KB deserves its public reputation. The meatspace antics of its members reflect on anyone who chooses to publicly support KB. It isn't a site for all bikers. It's a site for people who enjoy being abused by pimply snot-face 250 "riders" and alpha male and female personas who will chose whom they wish to persecute and then sic their acolytes when they have established sufficient "reason" to do so.

Remember it's 99% how you look.

Nope...I'm sure I saw it when I was mucking out, ready for the influx. Did you want me to retrieve it for you?
Back on topic tho, my experiences with KB on and offline have mostly been positive. Perhaps it is how 'you' think of KB which determines the response?

I never volunteer the fact that I am involved with KB, or even that I know of its existence.

So the question of its reputation has never arisen.
