LOL... ok - something from another email... 22/4/08...

and I quote "Mack feigned ignorance on dancing but that lasted all of two minutes. He picked up the two step within a couple of steps and was dancing like a pro (which he is) before anytime at all and yes --- Mack can dance! He was a treat for all of us girls who love to dance so we kept him busy - and he had a ball. I suspect he hadn't had that much fun in a very long time. "

You've been there - you'll understand the fun they have dancing... Mack left a few of them tired... that boy won't be forgotten in those parts anytime soon...!

I can vouch for that...he's a heck of a good dancer. The two step would be very much a "walk in the stable only" practice for him

Which reminds me: Mack, hurry back home will ya? I need you to teach Neil the Rumba (miss you buddy, hope you're doing well )

I am indeed having a great time dancing! But no Tall, Handsome Texans guys for me, thanks. The ladies are pretty keen on dancing around these parts!

Neither will you mate! The stories I could tell!!!! lol.
The Broken Spoke was awesome, and I had great fun there dancing with about 6 ladies all night, damn what a workout! Really could have used some backup on that one, they had no-one else to dance with so I got passed around like a dancing 'pass the parcel'!

Will try and make it home, but they don't want me to leave!

I bet you can remember real quick when one of these gals get a hold of you mate! As for getting carried away, too late! I just about had to be carried from the dancefloor I was so knackered! Bloody womenfolk wore me out!
I tell you, these Texas women should come with a warning label! lol.

I have had an amazing time here in Texas, one of the best highlights of my trip so far, incredible places, roads, people and the food is bloody fantastic!
The hill country around Austin is very pretty and somewhat similar to home in some ways, green rolling hills with great roads, more dancehalls than you can shake a stick at (!), and a really nice feel to the area. The downtown area really goes off at weekends, they close the streets to traffic and people just pack the venues to the rafters.

This week I am off to New Orleans, they have the annual Jazz Festival going on there at present and it should be a blast! Bourbon Street here I come!
Cajun and Creole cooking is incredible, the city is recovering from the Hurricanes and starting to get back to something like normal. I will take lots of photo's and send some back to someone who can post them.
    More to follow, stay tuned.....

Thanks for the update. I'm so jealous! The southern states are probably absolutely gorgeous at the moment. Spring weather won't be too hot & muggy. Where are those photos he keeps promising?!

It's a crazy system in the US where you have to pay to send and receive texts and phone calls. Madness! Also some phone companies only provide services in certain states and you either can't use your phone in the other states or it costs a LOT more - depending on which state you originally registered your phone in. So it's possible at some point he's going to lose coverage completely and have to resort to email.
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

He tried to send them to me but something in the email system failed and I'm not sure where they went to from there. Hopefully not because I know he will have some pretty special memories...

Mr Man is in Florida - might be a few days before he's in front of a PC... but is doing really really well.

Sounds like quite a happy camper.

Down in the Florida Everglades now, DAMN it is hot here!
Having high 90's most days and humid with it, I am heading down a road known as Alligator Alley today, guess why?
I expect to be in Key West tomorrow and then heading back up the Florida penninsular to the Carolinas and the legendary 'Tail of the Dragon' in a few more days. Should meet up with Jafar somewhere around there.
I will continue to try and send photo's back but seem to be having some serious problems getting them through, not sure why but will work on it.
I had one of the most surreal experiences of my life the other night, in a bar chatting with a local. He started telling me his life story over a couple of beers, and one sentence just about had me running for the door...
"It's kinda like the first time you have sex with your sister..."
I didn't dare laugh at him because he was huge and still had most of his teeth, besides which he was serious!! and he made it clear by his explanation of the comment, in the interest of not making you guys vomit I will spare you the details, but he was serious.
The conversation went down hill rapidly after that, surprise surprise.
I got the hell out of there as soon as I could, but what a special bunch of people they were in there!
More to follow when I get to another computer,
    Have fun.
    Mack
