What material was your gloves? My right hand turned blue cos I had black and blue leather gloves (no idea why the left had was unaffected though).

ah! so it hasnt spread to your left hand yet!

I have black leather gloves so it was probably the dye coming out of them

Dyed leather and rain doesn't mix I guess... I had my blue and black leather jacket on in the rain once with a white t-shirt underneath, when I got home the t-shirt had blue patches on it! And did you see the guy on the NSR? Mark, was it? In Tauranga he took off his jacket and there were coloured patches on his t-shirt from his Quasimoto leather jacket.

That would be a good ride.

You have to stop in Whangamomona, Between Tamaruni and Stratford.
There is a pub there that surve great burgers and chips. All bike riders from everywhere go and meet there. I went there on Friday with 2 of my bike rideing mates.
There is 12km of unsealed roads there on the lost HW 43, but its more like hard smoth clay. So still quite fast. When we were there, there was anywhere from 20 to 50 other bikes. The people there were all nice, Not hard core bikey gangs or anything. A RX7 trike even turned up well we where there.

Hope you have a great time

Sounds like a good spot alright!

How would you rate the ride-ability of the lost hway? i've heard many bikers talk about it as an adventure within itself, and not something to be taken on lightly. Things may have changed since then tho.
Have you ridden the whole route there much?

I just got my full, and the 2 guys with me both on there learners. It was a first for all of us all on 3 different bikes. Me CBR600RR. Claton on a new Nightster 1200 Harley, and Nat on his Ninja 250. We went from Hamilton though there, and back to Hamilton. (The long way 750km) And that was the best part of the whole ride.
