How much to repair GN250, indicators, mirror, wheel alignment

This is the real problem. If you look closely at them they look more like car tyres. My GN just didn't want to corner at all until I swapped the standard rubber (and I use the term loosely, they were probably more plastic than rubber) for a pair of Avon Roadriders.

MY honest opinion here dude. Pay $100 or less to fix the indicator/mirror etc. THEN right away go to cycletreads and buy a decent front tyre -$100-150 cos sure as eggs thats what caused yer off

It will cost you $1 for the new bulb, $2 for a pack of glue-gun sticks to fix the indicators, and also do what Pete said above. That's $3.

Look around - the Suzuki dealership here charged the young lady who bought my GN (2006) $17.00 for a new bulb for the back brake light. Ouch! (No customers were injured in this transaction; I paid since most likely the light wasn't working when I sold the bike).

That's a pretty high bar, I'm sure you can get it lowered

Yer, the front left bulb has probably blown. with the wheel alignment, like i said in the pm, its quite likely the risers have bent. But put up a pic from above and we'll be able to see for sure. If you bring it round we can sort it easy, there are already 3 GN's in the shed

$4.95 for a dual filament taillight bulb from Repco.
I think the indicator covers are about $9-10 each. If the indicators are broken, its probably just a wire. Easy to fix, get some connections from a $2 shop. Push both sides of wire into connector & its sorted.

A new set of ventura bars are $45 from Cycletreads. If your tall, a straighter bar will make ride so much more comfortable.

New front tyre, as Frosty said $120- $150. New rear tyre about the same.
Might be best to replace tyres individually so you can scrub them in easier? Not sure on that as everyone has there own opinions.

If doing all this might be worth your while to change oil & filter at same time. $80 will get you 4ltrs of good oil & 2 filters. That will last 6000km of riding.

A little tricky to replace the mirror itself. The back can be removed, knock out the broken bits and replace the glass. Look in $2 shops for small mirrors. You should find one that fits, take the round bit to compare.

That's the problem with being a newcomer and having no knowledge - the powers that be can rip us off blind. Good on you asking for help - wish I had done that before being parted with my hard earned cash.

Still, the lesson has been learned ~ thank goodness I am still teachable!

The bars are a wee bit crook tho, but given his size, he should change them anyway to flatter bars.
Indicator was fine, the bulb had dislodged, reseated and its all go.

Forks are fine, as suspected the risers had bent down a little. I straightened them but when he sorts the bars he should replace the bolt anyway.

And the moral of this thread is .... don't go to bike shops, talk to those in the know BEFORE making a rash decision that we might later regret.

To add to this; i dont know if this is relevant to my wee spill but i tried starting my engine before and it just wouldnt start. When i pressed electric start button it just kept makign the *ring ding ding ding* sound but never actually started. I do know that im running relatively low on fuel but i can still hear a fair bit sloshign around when i shake bike (dunno if thats relevant).

I had ridden it home fine just after the acciden approx 3kms. And i had started it started earlier today but it just wouldnt idle. Me thinks i might take it in to get properly looked at. Any ideas though before i do?
