cue "linkin park - what I've done."
Dawn, you need some instruction on basic weight-shift+countersteer combined cornering on open-road corners at around 120 clicks. Once you have seen (and felt) this you will see the birth of a sportbike rider, and discover the art, beauty, and science or what your bike was really intended for, and if you do see it, possibly what you were intended for.

I wouldn't piss on this one if it was on fire!

well the way i see it, as long as your riding who gives a fark.
once apon a time when the cage was impounded and i had no ride i had to walk or hitch, never be going there again even if i have to ride a nifty 50 it's a shit load better than walking.
Yeah man scooters rock especially when ten of ya r thrashing the Onehunga footpath & doing feetup donuts on the wet grass, followed by car park racing, cheap entertainment![]()
Fook Yeah!...Me Got DRZ400sm Now!
& still can't spell for shit!
I've got a '92 Suzuki Sepia. It's good for shopping and riding around town.
I use it for riding around town, but the only reason I brought it was that it was only $100. Pretty good around traffic the old scooters, better than a bike. Much smaller and steer quicker. I use a bigger bike for riding out of town or racing at the track.
Two Stroke, the pinnacle of engine design
After all I went from a BMW to a Burgman. Smart move actually!! But I do miss my beemer occaisionally.
Will now sit back and await abuse and derision to arrive on this thread for making the change![]()
I will ride a scooter when only in the Islands, dont really get a choice there.
But they are fun, if only for a short while.
Ive been told that Im Bi.
Took me a while to realise I liked it both ways.
On road and off road.

For many years I have had both a scooter and a bike, one for town one for the road. But I had a 'senior moment' last year and purchased a new Burgman 400cc scooter.
It only took me a few days to see that I no longer needed a bike for the road so I sold my sweet Aeramacchi.
The Burgman has big enough wheels to make counter steering easy and will cruise at 150kph (so the Americans say, I have only been up to 145) and it still has the versatility of a smaller scooter in the city. My advanced age (75) makes get the leg over a bike a hassel so the step through is great. The 400cc K7 Burgman was given the best maxi scooter award in the USA last year.
