    CBR600 2008/2007 - opinions?

I'm thinking of buying a new CBR600. Does anyone have one or had experience with one. What do you think of it and is worth the dollars?

    Cheers

Go for it. I would love one of those myself, but I don't think they are for everyone. If you like a lot of torque at low revs you should look elsewhere.

That must have been a demo bike, they are 16750 on their website. I was offered 15K for a demo bike from the Honda store in barrys point road in Aucks. Another honda shop could only do me 15750+orc for their lowest price but on a brand new bike.

My good friend owns a 2008 CBR600rr in Grafitti paint scheme and he LOVES it. Its his only ride at the moment so he takes it everywhere and ride it in all conditions and its performed perfectly. Started up every time......even in the dead of Winter.

I've ridden his bike ALOT and I posted a comparison review awhile back between his bike and my R-6. What I can tell you is that if you want an extremely light and reliable bike with one of the best engines in the 600cc class then the Honda is your bike.

Personally I prefered my R-6.....but that could be chalked up to owners bias hehe.

To give you an idea of how I feel about it....I recently binned my R-6 and am conisidering all options for a replacement including liter bikes. One of the choices on my short list is a 2009 CBR600rr.......but only if they add a slipper clutch and some decent paint and update the instrument cluster to make it look a little less cheap. They do that and Im gonna be a Honda man (assuming I decide to stay with 600's and not get a bigger bike). hehehe.

Oh yeah I guess that makes sense, I was wondering why there were so many suzuki's on the site.

Stay away from the Honda shop at Barry's point road. Go see Botany Honda instead.

Yes, I have one of these.... They have quite a lot at the bottom end when compared to other IL4 600s and turn in real well in standard trim. Lots of fun on the track, AND a very good tourer as well. I did the HRC South Island tour this year on mine. Seat, knees etc very comfortable for my size (165cm) but the lack of wind protection became an issue only because of the conditions I encountered at time. They have amazing fuel economy as well, compared to my mates ZX-6R and my GSXR, and a bigger tank as well. Just be mindful of the side stand which sits under the bike more than it should IMO. Having had it for a while now it seems harder to keep clean than my GSXR - it gets dirtier in harder to reach places, and the surfaces don't wipe clean as easily they do on the GSXR. They should have included a gear position indicator and less importantly to me a slipper clutch.

If the K8 GSXR was available I would have bought that.

    Yep, worth every cent.

I think Hayden Fitzgerald is selling his 2008 still for $15500.
He has done 6km (yes, six!) since getting it.
Selling, as he doesn't have his full licence, and really has no intention of riding on the road.

Call Rob At Honda Riders Club to get in touch if you are keen.
