Hey renergade, looking at the bikes on your list the VFR would be the pick. I have recently ridden the street triple and although the suspension may seem luxury compared to the Hyobag, its pretty shit, apart from that a great bike. Next in the list would be ER6N, still not great suspension but better than the street triple.

Get out and test them.

yeah nothing wrong with the bike, i really liked it to ride, just that im shallow and looks do matter

yeah a non vtec would be nice but just a little to old for me now, they are a nice bike.

have you ridden the er6n? whats your thoughts between that and the street triple?

i have ridden the vfr and the er6n, i enjoyed them both but the er6n did feel like it was just going to be a fun ride from the get go as were the vfr just felt like it was a work horse that meant business and had a job to get on with.

Spoke to a lady at the shop the other day on her new 05 900 monster and she seemed really happy, it had the sound to, i might check one out for kicks.

I have riden a er6n but it was a year or two ago, it was a fun bike to ride then, very flickable, and went well. Bearing in mind that the street triple was more recent (only a few weeks ago), but I would have to say the the Triple engine was a stronger engine. As I say the suspenders on both arnt the best (both hve been designed for nice smooth europen roads, not the goat tracks we have here in places) but I do not re,ember the Kwaka supension being as bad as the Triumph's.

The VFR would still be my pick (not that I am telling you what to do, shit itsyour money and your life). You need to rev the engine to get the best out of it (VETC is FUN!!!) and the frame and suspenders are of a far better qaulity.

I rode a couple of monsters, a 1000sie and a S21000, I liked the 1000sie but it felt a cheep bike with cheap components for a hell of a price, the S2 was a great bike and I really enjoyed it but I just couldnt like with it every day, particuarly the clutch (heavy and dry clutch's dont like sitting in traffic).

I think I may have missed it but what about the Hornet CB900? or one of my faves FZ6, looks great and a bit lighter and high tech than the others in its class

I am kind of in the same position of a midrange bike which will thrill me to bits now and I wont grow out of too fast.

yeah considered the hornet but dismissed it, apart from the R1 and R6, yamaha dont really grab me, i will look into the FZ6 tho, thanks.

go look at www.ktlbikes.co.nz .Speak to Kerry Jeffs There are two Kerrys so you need to ask for Kerry Jeffs he owns KTL and does bloody good deals and real down to earth guy....If your going to Taupo racing this weekend he will be there with Flame and Drew on the 749r Ducatis,come say hello....

Just rock up ,no entry charge,Sunday racing, look for the 2 Black 749r s one(99) has "Flame" on it and the other (131) "Rock star". Ask for me.And i will introduce you to the riders and Kerry Jeffs, Hope to see you.
