Rofl. CB250RRRRRRRRS -- that's my bike then
Well I'm going over to Banzai's tomorrow sometime maybe around 2pm? Perhaps a little later if I sleep in haha. Who wants to join me?

Bent bars won't cause that, just make one hand closer to you than the other. I rode with these bars for a while and didn't realise they were bent until I was riding towards a friend and he saw one hand was lower than the other hehe.
Lol -- I think I actually know a couple of girls who live in the same apartment, if I'm thinking of the same place. Maybe I could invite them down to use their muscles to bend the bars?![]()

grease and oil are two very different things, and then there is many different types of grease, so you can only substitute the two in certain instances where both will suffice, but usually they can't be interchanged
in short, if you aren't sure about it ask someone who knows what they're talking about.
in general:
cables=wd40
chains=wd40, but chain lube is ultimately what they need to run
belts=NOTHING (not that your bike has any)
removing tight/rusted bolts = crc556 and hammer/impact driver
reinstalling bolts that you don't want to rust in place=either will work, grease is MUCH better
any unsealed bushings/bearings that aren't bathed in oil = grease
anything with a grease nipple = grease
anything electronic = contact cleaner and nothing more unless you know you can get away with it - remember oil doesn't conduct electricity
brakes=don't get any oil/crc anywhere near your brakes - it will soak into and ruin your pads, and may cause the piston seals to perish and eventually fail
and no matter how tempting it is, do not silicone spray your tyres - results in zero traction and the overspray onto the brake discs gives zero braking power
Got new Handlebars installed today!!!
Thanks heeeeeeaaaaps to xerxesdaphat for installing it!!
We had to cut a little thing sticking from switch boxes to fit the bar in (original bar have holes to make them stay in place).
That took while to organise lol but other than that, everything went smooth.
After he left I took it for test ride.
It handles waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than normal bars!!!!!!:wari_nana:
I can weave so much easier at any speed, I can lean easier, and it feels much more confortable! (It feels like I have complete different bike!)
Gotta adjust mirrors and levers, but other than that I'm so happy!!!
I was too busy test riding, so missed cheap treadme tool kit tho![]()

Yeah man even looks way cooler! Big ups to xerxesdaisthisenoughx's?
No worries there are plenty of tool kits out there for ya! Just make up excuses to go to Stephens, and then slowly steal your way towards a full kit, lol jks!
Yep, the GN250 has got that silly system where they drill holes into the handlebars and have a tab on each switchblock so they locate onto the bars. Silly system, because it means you need to drill new bars (not a problem if you have the tools, but I didn't bring an electric drill) and also it means you can't adjust switchblocks to rotate them or slide them to where you like it comfortably.
We were worried about the throttle unit in particular rotating around the bars. Decided in the end to cut off the tabs, then get some heavy-duty duct-tape (the fibre/cloth kind), wrap one layer around, then use that as extra grip, as the GN250 switchblocks seem to entirely rely on the locating tab for friction.
Eventually got it sorted out after some fiddling.
Bars are more bent than I realised, but Banzai seems comfortable. Maybe somebody could get a length of pipe on the end of them to straighten them out? At any rate they're not causing problems in the mean time.
Brake master cylinder got inverted accidentaly, brakes are still very effective (I could easily two-finger lock the front brake), but tomorrow I'll bring some brake fluid and bleed the brakes at uni. Banzai reckons the brake lever pulls in a little further than it used to, so not good.
Head gasket is definitely blowing. You can feel it with your hand, and when the engine was fired up there was a tiny, momentary puff of smoke from the barrel/head interface. Chain could use a little more tension too, but it's not too bad. When's next SMC workshop night then? Lovely relaxed engine, though. No rattles, smooth as anything. Banzai -- if you still want it to do 9,500rpm, we'll chuck a CB250RS engine in it![]()

Yeah, I'll bleed them tomorrow. I think they were firmer before, but hell, I could lock your front wheel easy in the garage, but I couldn't with my bike even with my whole hand on the lever.
I like that -- GN250RS
BTW there is such a thing as the CB250RSR produced. Special edition Japanese market only version of the CB250RS-Z.
So we'll do the limited-edition performance GN250RacingSports![]()

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The only problem with new handlebar is I can't see rear-view mirror well.
Left side is ok, but right side one.
I need something slightly higher or maybe more adjustable one eh.....

You can see something in your rear-view mirrors? I just get a wonderful view of my arm.
On a more serious note: my right one is pretty crappy too (probably from a wee slide i had) so i have my left mirror facing WAY back and my right is pretty much just looking at my blindspot.
Headchecks are you're friend.![]()
