US tour, got any tips?

I havn't really had time to get a lot done in the way of sightseeing as yet, between jetlag & bulging eyeballs I doubt I will see a tiny fraction of what NY.NY. has to offer. Don't get me wrong I have seen heaps, the place is absolutely mind boggling.

The first advise I got was "don't look like a tourist in NY" ,so no pic's of the first part of my tour of the big apple, New yorkers are not backward at coming forward thats for sure. Especially if you forget to give them a 'tip'. As today is "mothers day" giving the 'tip' of be good to your MOM didn't go down too well

They really do celebrate mothers day in a big way here , MOM is first for @ least one day, right down to special TV programs.

Presence in NY.NY is HUGE. Without exageration I saw 50 + patrol cars attend one incident off Broadway, even the locals stopped to watch

Well so much for the crap on TV that we get, the tourist guff I got said to ' ask a new yorker' . So I did & without exception all have been pleasant & courteous.

I have to say that the toys look better than you do mate. The shop is on 2 levels, there is a WALL OF M&M's from top to bottom would be 8-10 metres high & around 15 metres long , an impressive sight.

I am now in the oldest town in USA, St Augustine, Florida.
Established in 1565 or there abouts, very pretty place.
I will try and get some more photo's off to Nigel for posting, (thanks for that mate)
The beaches here are pretty impressive, and often have interesting wildlife on them at strange hours of the day, not unusual to see snakes and other larger toothed things crawling around in the early or late hours.
Have been to Daytona Beach and raceway, and other notable spots in the area and hope to be heading up into Georgia tomorrow. Myrtle beach should be next, I might even get to a bike show there, not sure yet.
I have been assured that the Blue Ridge Parkway is an exceptional road to ride and if I can dodge the insane weather then it should be a great trip.
22 people died this last weekend in Tornado's in the area I am heading towards! Severe weather warning are in place for a couple of states and floods are washing out roads, so things could start to get interesting from here on in. But my weather luck might just hold out for a few more days at least, the report this morning says I will probably get a gap over the next 3 days before the next wave of storms comes in. Fingers crossed!
