Have you ever thought of leaving a note?

Most of the time people don’t know when they’re going to kick the bucket and in those cases you don’t get a chance to say a final good bye to your loved ones.
Have any of you guys ever left some sort of see you later note or thought about it?
Whenever I get close to having a big one I think shit there’s so much I need to tell people and to say sorry for leaving on such short notice (not that you have much of a choice in situations like these) (and not saying that its going to happen on a bike, could be crossing the road, who knows?).
Not sure if it’s a good idea or not?
It would need to be given to someone who wouldn’t read it unless you actually died, and would need to be someone who wouldn’t get freaked out by the thought of it.

My 2 cents worth.
More important is to leave a current will. I have just re-written my will (just copied an old one) and I have given a copy to each of my kids. If they choose to read it then so be it. The point being that the will is current and when I go there will be no supprises because everyone has a copy.
There is nothing like a good death in a family to bring out the worst in people.

They are very important but a lot of people don't bother with them until it's too late.

Damn that's got me thinking... I think i'll leave a video for the family, in order for them to get over my loss... comfort them in their hour of need... and hopefully hurry along the healing process for them... great excuse to get that 3 some on tape... should do the trick...

Yep, I carry and envelope in a sealed plastic bag with the numbers and names of the people I want contacted if anything happens to me.
Inside the envelope is a letter to those I love most.

I have it as I would want those closest to me to know as soon as possible.

Can't say I have ever really thought about it although I do have a will that is pretty specific.

Went to a mates funeral a couple of years back and cos she knew was dying (yet another cancer victim) she had written her own eulogy which was read out at the funeral.
Not a dry eye in the place. And for the record even though that made the tears flow it also made people smile and I thought it was a great thing to do.

For me, it's not about wills and who gets what, that I don't care about.

I endeavour to end each day with all things resolved, loved ones know they are loved, unloved ones know they aren't and there are no disagreements left unresolved. This way everyone knows how I regard them and when I do pass on I hope their last memory of me is a true one.

Seems fairly straight forward to me.
