well the adventure is about to start

its thursday .. & must get outta this nice warm bed, take care of the 4 Legged kids before loading the bike & hitting the road .. Dunno about this -2 degree business that palmy is suppose to start the day off with ... guess it will be heated hand grips .. noice, however on the plus side the weather is looking like a ripper ..

be a quick flick into palmy to do several jobs & spend some more money before either vinegar hill or further out & coming out before mangaweka

have not really decided on which way I will ride up but may just stick to boring highway & come back to turangi tomorrow via some back roads ..

will post more tonite .. have fun working peeps and see some of you on monday at Hunterville for lunch

Sinfull see you & Hedi at Turangi

I'm jealous Have fun, and may see you Monday. I'd be in Turangi for sure, but I don't think Mum would appreciate me missing her birthday bash in Wellie. Ride safe!

    I'm coming I'm coming...

This better be sunday or monday otherwise I won't be coming :-(

We have wedding stuff to organise and pay for on Saturday...

Trying to convince Mrs v8 to help load up the rear of the RF to test it out over a distance... I ride to work everyday (when it's not too cold) and that only 18km one way..,... Not bloody long enough..

I'd put some on my GV250 except (a) I only intend to own it for a few more months and (b) the electrical system on this bike is notoriously underpowed (or rather, depending on your point-of-view, precisely right-sized in order to keep the battery charged and the lights on without any charging capacity to spare!).

I bought some winter-weight Rev-Its from ANZA and they're nice gloves but not quite warm enough to prevent freezing fingertips on longer night rides in current conditions. Are my expectations realistic - are any gloves warm enough or are heated grips the only real solution?

    fear not...

the Oxford's have a voltage thingamajig so they automatically switch off if the power goes below 11.5V, so you can't screw your battery

    nifty aye

I used to have a spare pair of goretex/goat skin ski gloves that were warm in all but arctic conditions but they were pretty thick - they didn't bug me but some people may not like that sort of bulk getting in the way of the 'feel' of their bars
