But sadly- I'm betting that in 12 months people will still be bitching about the guy because few people are actually willing go get off their keyboards and go down to the sation. (not saying westie - I'm talking people in general.)

Its our combined lack of action that enables him to carry on

The police are hiring Gingaa's now??? when did that happen ???

    Seriously tho ...

It is the responsibility of the Police to uphold the law, they are not above it, as various court cases will testify, if an individual (civilian) is breaking the law, it is the duty of a police officer to enforce the law, however, police officers, have a moral and ethical responsibility to not only work but live within the law.

If a member of the police force is using his or her position as a member of law enforcement to abuse the law and intimidate members of the public, we, as citizens have a duty and a right to report it and we should.

I personally would have no problem with going into the closest police station and filing a report against a police officer, if I felt that the actions of said officer warrented it.

From what i've read, it would seem that the officer in question needs to be called into the principal's office and giving a talking too.

the police force, regardless of country, will always discipline there own, as a lack of public confidence in the force undermines the work they do.

If you feel as strongly as i think you do, file a report, while a public forum may or may not be the best venue to air your issues, the fact remains, that as a citizen, YOU, have a moral and ethical responsibility to report the actions of a police officer that is acting outside the law.

    here endith the lesson.

Post a Google Earth picture of the location please.

The problem is that this ginga pig is the CO. He hates bikers, told me so himself and doesnt show up in court because he knows he is simply harasing bikers. I will sign a petition to send to his senior sargent if one were started.

Good. Keep the bastard on his toes.
If all the common hiding places are posted here (special thread perhaps?) this will keep him busy.

    reason for this thread

I would like people to post up their accounts with the officers that harass the atnr and any other riders out old north rd, peak rd and waitoki etc.
Please specify a place/area around the area I mentioned.
It would only be of help if you know the officer number or the date and rego of the car they drove.

All I'm asking for is some others to air their issues and lodge a complaint if they feel they need to. I suppose just a brief account otherwise it might be as another member says not good for our cause.

I will be lodging a complaint but never had any problems with police in the past so I really have no idea what to do.
This is my first infringement on a motor bike ever.

    The gin gaaa threatened me
" you will not complain about me, I will arrest you for wasting police time" Quote un quote.

He was wasting his time very well on his own thanks.

Would love to see him disciplined(but not sexually he can keep that at home)

Google Earth is all fuzzy (excuse the pun) at the location on 16 that I want...Bugger!
    Will spell it out...

Heading North...past Woodcocks on the right...about 13ks up on the left is the Hoteo Bridge/Boat Ramp...it has a building (boat club) and seperate toilets.
He sits behind a tree close to the shitters and points back towards the south...and has a good clear view for quite some distance.

If nothing else, it might slow some motorcyclists down.

You sound as though you seriously believe the "Speed Kills" campaign.
High speed, or indeed, speed over the 100 k allowed in NZ does not necessarily constitute silly, careless or dangerous behaviour.
Back on topic...this thread has nothing to do with speed as such. It is all to do with a cop, who has said he hates motorcyclists and has a whole raft of tricks up his sleeve to harass them, whether they are doing anything wrong or not. His tactics include some seriously dodgy and dangerous manouevres and he needs to be brought to account for same.
I wish you guys well in your efforts!

Just a note on the Ginga copper. It appears at least two of these operate in the Rodney County.

Westie your guy sounds measurably worse than my 'Rodney ginga experience', the guy that pinged me was reasonable [Officer Jane], spoilt only by me experiencing him first hand riding his own bike in a most unlawful manner [surburban road] at high speed a few months later.
I have heard many folk complain of 'the ginga one' and always assumed it was officer Jane. It maybe time to work out who we need to watch?

Can you name and shame Westie?
