Have you thought of cleaning it with a mild soap, as there may be a coating on ot just from being new, then trying some other anti-fog stuff?

I just started using the cat crap anti-fog on my shoei, and it works pretty good. I used to use a fog city insert, but some distortion occured.

There are also pin lock systems I have heard of, but I don't know much about them. There was a post about this topic just a while ago. You may want to do a search for more info. I did a google search on the pin lock system. Everyone raved about it here.
    Good luck!

use a shoei pin lock system or replace your visor with the anti-fog,the cat crap is a very cheap alternative the works very well try that first..

Any Shoei dealership should easily sort you out a pinlock visor mate, just be prepared to faint when you here the price.........but, it's worth every cent IMHO.

On a ride we had down here just yesterday we were discussing this, I don't have any personal experience with fog city inserts, my helmet is an Arai and as far as i'm aware come with pinlock visors and the insert as standard, dunno, might have my wires crossed but the point being the inserts with pin type set ups are excellent IMO, the fog city ones although working on the same principal I have heard are'nt quite as successful mainly through not quite getting the seal right and i've also heard that there is sometimes some distortion in the insert itself.
But like I said i've only had experience with the genuine pinlock system and I have met more than one rider that's been thrilled with the stick on type inserts.

I know it's pretty expensive to get the visor and insert but you won't regret spending the money IMHO.

Please NOTE: In my experience in town you might have to crack the visor open a tiny wee bit to let the slightest amount of airflow into the helmet but on the open road there should'nt be any worries having the visor fully closed.

wash it with warm sunlight and water , dry it , then put about half a teaspoon of sunlight onto the inside of the visor rub in well with clean hands then polish with a soft cloth

My Shoei XR 1000 is much worse than my old Raid and the recommendation to get a pinlock is the best way to go. They're a considerably dearer in NZ than buying on line from any of the big US suppliers.

BTW, you have a good taste in bikes Do you have a soft copy service manual for the pre- 99 'bird? I have manuals for both the carbed and injected models so PM me if you need one.

i'm useing the fogcity stick on type, it's out lived my screen(2years) which is scratched to buggery. even on the frosty mornings when there's ice on my frontage she stay's fog free, great investment for only 30 odd bucks.

I went to motomail yesterday and showed my helmet to one of the employees and asked about the pin lock system. The kind guy said that I already have one! It's that black thingy on the side that cracks the visor a wee bit. I always wondered what that was for... I guess you're never too old to learn something. I almost felt obliged to buy something but I overcame the urge...
I used it today, and it does work great!

Huh??????? No points for that guy. The pin lock system is a second hard piece of plastic which sits inside the main visor: http://www.pinlockusa.com/.

Brilliant piece of kit - impossible to mist. First had it on my old Nolan about 10 years ago.
