I believe that is the same guy.

I've heard he has plans for an eventual attempt at landing without the help of the parachute.

I'd really like to be able to fly.

If they could just figure out a way of doing it without having to jump off things/out of things, then I'd be there.

The solution is a windtunnel. Heaps of them are popping up around the world. I believe there is one planned for either Brisbane or Sydney in the near future.

Hmmmmmmmmm, that windtunnel lark looks interesting. I see there is one outside London, might have to investigate it when I am next back up in that neck of the woods.

I was thinking more of your sort of vertical take off and landing thing, maybe with a bit of a run-up over something that doesn't resemble a cliff, sort of run along a bit, glide about a bit, low-flying, and the venture out into the proper sky in a mood of confidence. And one of those silly James Bond things doesn't appeal either, LOL.

You know, take off like a plane or a proper bird (although I can see myself resembling a pelican or whatever those birds are that have trouble getting on and off the ground) .. there has to be a gentler method than just leaping out of stuff.

Couldn't be doing with the legs dangling thing.

Yer Finnish man of Mowgli's looks quite interesting, but he still has to get up there and then jump off. I'm not good with vertigo.

Once I was UP THERE, I would be fine, its the getting up there ...

What you want is a ride in a Bell 47G Sioux. There's nothing quite like sitting up high on a park bench with a ladder up your bum
