Hmm, this would appear to be at odds with that Maha.

Probably should not do this but....this was one question in Maha mans scratchie test that he got WRONG! The correct answer on the test was the only time you have to dip your lights was approaching a points man on duty!

I always thought you could not drive/ride with high beam lights in a 50km zone, following another vehicle or with on coming traffic. Seems that there should be a bit more investigation here.

Wow, that is surprising. Imagine the surprise, nay shock to scratch the logical answer off to find that you got it wrong, and only point duty officers were NOT allowed to be dazzled. Hmmmmm.

Thats really interesting....so it seems legal and ok to drive/ride around any town/city with your lights on full beam. I know for a fact that there are a more than four times that one should dip their lights, yet only four are listed?
But what would I know....Im never there!....

Its not an offence, I would contest that westie...Rode Code states that 'the only time you have to dip your lights is when you come upon a cop on points duty'.....you are within your rights to drive/ride with your lights on full...its an arsehole thing to do granted but not illegal.

Road code is not a legal document and cannot be used in the court of law, however it sounds like the may be a peice of law that would allow this to be successfully chalenged.

I was going to but decided on pursuing a cop instead to be more fun.

Just a a note, a friend of mine was told by the head man in this area, that if 3 complaints are made about the same officer, he/she will be brought up in front of their superiors to explain his/her actions. The complainents will be contacted with the outcome of that action.

Perhaps someone in the force can say whether this is true or not, it might also be worth a try by the people involved
