Should such an event happen, who's gonna be keen?

Speaking to "people in the know", they envisage that the focus will be on FUN, and turning the round into a team event rather than any expectations of televised "Endurance" racing.

    So who's up?

Where the fuck do I sign?

Also, who' be keen on paying the meagre ten bucks entry fee to spectate fora days entertainment?
Ive crashed both my bikes but I might be keen if I can team up with you? Is your suspension good Im 140kg so we might have to play with the spring rates etc,
Im willing to chip in for fuel and i insist I supply all the athlete endurance food , hope you like taro and tinned mackrel washed down with 7up

Sorry mate, thought you were being sarcastic. My bad.

Not sure about the rules regarding riding two different bikes within one team. As for "real racers", as long as you hold a current MNZ licence and your bike passes scrutineering, you're as real a racer as the guy (or girl) in the next pit.

    Awesome, thanks Jimmy.
In that case I'd be keen to put a two person team together, not necessarily to be competitive but for the experience and because it sounds like wicked good fun.
Keep us updated on the progress for this happening won't you, cheers!

As for others riding your bike, you look at it like this. Ya split the cost 50/50 REGARDLESS of who does what. That way it's equal risk, one rider doesn't stand to lose more than the other.
    1) So all the other classes get 20 minutes and have to watch F1/F2 going round and round for 2 hours?
    2) Any other track but Pukekohe and I'd say maybe
    3) Suggestion: - as per other countries, each rider does their stints on their own bike. More like a tag team. Reduces dangers associated with fast refuelling, tyre changes, repairs and more importantly means you can only crash your own bike.

Not really, that was just my take on how it might work. Can you imagine a two hour 125 race?

And that makes it a "team" event how? Suzuka 8 hour they ride one bike. World endurance champs they ride one bike.

White Crash, talk more with Frosty. The idea of an endurance race has been brought up many times before.
If it was at Taupo, I would help out with it as much as possible, hell, I'd even like to help sponsor it!! Chris Lawrance and I even contemplated the idea of an endurance meeting for our Road Race Spectacular next year.
The Taupo track is so much more friendlier to racers than Puke.

We definately need this type of event to happen - and soon!!
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

Woah woah woah, I'm confusing people more sorry.

I'm not organising or haveing anything to do with this particular event, it's AMCCs baby, that's not to say I'm adverse to the idea of getting involved in another event later on, I agree it'd be a blast at Taupo. Although, the tyre bill would be fucken horrendus.

I just wondered what people thought as AMCC are looking at running this event as part of their series this year is all.

Yes? What's the difference apart from horsepower?

    It's not very central.
It's not very exciting (especially on lower horsepower bikes)
    It's got poor facilities
Armco and poor runoff are not a good idea for endurance racing.
Not a great view for spectators.
And yes, I'm $hit scared of Puke.

For sure, but we can't exactly compare NZ racers to the world endurance champ nor Pukekohe to Suzuka now can we?

"team"...as in more than one person. Rider goes out, gets knackered, whatever. Comes into pits and the other "teammate" goes out.

Up to 3 entrants on 2 or 3 bikes.

Not sure what you mean by iron man bullshit, 2 hour races were ridden solo when i was running a 2 wheeler. The last race i ever did on 2 wheels was the Pukekohe 2 hour i think '88 or '89.
FFS, There are some race results posted on this site from around 1980 where Robbie Dean did a Castrol 6 hour solo.
