New Honda models & prices

Just had a look at Honda NZ's website and the price list has been updated a week ago.

Two new models took my eye - the CB1000R (naked) at $18995
CB600F Hornet at $15995

My lovely Hornet 900 is now officially listed as 'discontinued' so I guess what is in NZ is it.

I don't know about you lot but $11k for my new Hornet 900 was my limit - there is absolutely no way I'd extend to $19 for the 1000R, or even $16 for the 600!
This means that in the horrid event I bin the Hornet in the future and write it off, unless there is a dealer with one in stock I'm fucked for a new bike of similar displacement. Same if you have a SV1000 as I understand they are on the way out.

Interesting that the VTR 1000 is still listed.

From what I heard, it was being discontinued along with the Blackbird.

Man that is so expensive what a price hike......looks like the 07 new bikes will be the bargain. Can;t believe the 08 Fireblade is $3k more than its predecessor. Goodness

Not bad even if they copied the Suzuki BK a bit. Love the Single-sided Swing arm and the dash looks so cool.

Australia are getting the CB400, which looks very nice, but is near on the same price at the 900.

I was told that the Hornet/VTR/Blackbird were all discontinued - although I was still tempted by the last new Blackbird that was at Casbolts...

Strewth, that's a bit steep for a 600. I liked the look of the Hornet, but at that price the SV is looking better and better.

Ya, all of those and aircon, built-in GPS, CB radio and intercom all driven from the handle bars ... that would have to be the vehicle of choice touring the US where the raods are so long straight and boringggggg

You are 100% correct. My dad had a goldwing with a side car that he drove until he was 80. Had a gear for reverse, and all the chrome bling you could imagine, as well as automatic tire inflation. It was ideal for those loooong, looong rides.
He'd plop my step-mom in it and they'd take off for weeks at a time. When there was no passenger, we'd put a couple sacks of salt in it to help with the balance.

There is an appalling paucity of under 600cc motorcycles there. I'm glad they ditched the CBF250, as it was a silly machine, but you only have to look at the wonderful motorcycles on Honda.co.jp -- lineup here: http://www.honda.co.jp/motor-lineup/

Bluewing is not importing the CB400SS, the CB400 Super Four and Super Bol D'or, the modern 250 Hornet, the modern VTR250, a 250 and 400 cruiser, and the superb CB223S and FTR223 (which would sell like hotcakes compared to, say, the Scorpio or GN).

Not even the XR400? How about the magnificent CB750?

Why is Bluewing so bizarrely limiting their market?

The CB400 looks hot!! I think it is down to demand and so Bluewing just brings in a handful of mainstream models. Thats my opinion
