I've had to do that once, when I had some fairings sent from Florida. Was a painless process though, they faxed me some stuff, I faxed them back... then I had to figure out how to get an entire set of custom bodywork into an MR2, that was the real challenge

Ya lucky sods... I've done this twice and both times i've had to chase and chase where i'm at with my packages. First time was end cans for the bike, second a shock and both times Customs and the courier company have denied actually having the package. It turned out to be that customs were holding the package at the courier station and neither was claiming responsibility for actually holding the item...

Nice image, trying not to damage the bodywork whilst squeezing them into an MR2... How long did it take you!!!
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

Weigh up the costs, credit car transaction fees, exchange rates, shipping fees and the above etc... it's almost worth getting things locally as Tony stated, you'll getb a local warranty, and should you need it it'll be priceless. But do the sums and unless it's vastly cheaper, buy locally, saves te headaches of customs UGHHHH

Thanks for the info on the Galfers Tony, just fitted some, just need my suspension back to give them a go.
not really, while ago got sent a bill from nz customs with a pipe/pc3 that they had got, for us to pay duty on rang them up gave them a credit card number, they released it and was on our door next day,

but in turns hows you how bright they are, we gave them the wrong credit card number, that card was cancelled, few months later we have got a bill from customs asking us to pay for goods we have had for over 3 months.

We have got alot of items thru, and never really had an issue, with shipping etc.

Yeah, Customs do some weird stuff. The Ohlins for my Fireblade was valued at $500 US (approx $ 660 NZ) on the paperwork, arrived on the doorstep no worries, but they want Gst paid on the front rim and brake discs from the UK, value 180 quid ($470 NZ).
    Go figure
