Oh the Puhoi, how I love thee...now the Speights one I might actually try out today. Not on my bike, but with some friends. The Kentish I am keen to trip out to, and the others...I think I'll need to do a road trip of extreme proportions one day soon...how exciting! And the company is important of course, we like meeting up with like-minded individuals...and people with bikes!!

Me too - that lovely sloping grassy bit out the front. One of my favourite things to do after a ride is lie on the grass and look at the sky. Oh, some not so good memories too - I remember the grumpy old guy who used to run it coming over and pouring a bucket of water on the open fire about 4pm on a Sunday - completely unexpected and unannounced. We had obviously outstayed our welcome....

Still a grumpy shit in there, although he's a bit younger. You should've seen the look on his face when I tried to use a VISA card! Every surly bartender stereotype personified.

It's a nice spot, though. They could just use some of the staff from the pub at Raglan.

this reminds me of me 3 1/2 year old about a month ago. I was painting the outsideof the house. He lying on the back lawn looking at the sky(clear blue day). He starts screaming Dad Dad. I think somehing must of bitten him or stung him by the ways he holering.I ask him what the problem is and he says.

    "The clouds are moving"

    a classic moment

Mmmm the raglan pub verandah on a sunny summers afternoon watching the girls go by...... There are no ugly chicks in raglan, anyone ever noticed that? Maybe there's a council by-law banning them from the main street?

Whangamomona of course, the most outback bar in NZ
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

i like the way everyone sits out the front, and watches as other bikes pull in - no pressure, but make sure you don't drop it in the pea metal. was up there during the week and a couple of gxxrrrrs (maybe one was a cbrrrrr600) went past coming off the bridge - absolutely caning it - with what sounded like nasty GP exhausts......fantastic
