Nasty and I have both had 3 days off this week, she has gone back to work but I need yet another sickie day - this is a foul foul sickness. Checking the Wx for either the 'Rapa or Horoewhenua & Manawatu just shows winds, wet and low temps. It's just dodgy for us to be out in it.

Sorry chick, have been looking forward to it too ...
No probs Grub can not help being sick .. am trying to dodge the sore throat thing myself at present but if everyone is lucky I might lose my voice for saturday

A group of us Ulysses Club members will be riding over PNth for the event. Our coordinator has promoted it quite well - after I forwarded details via email to him and other committe members. Weather looks dodgy but could be worse; there may even be a bit of sunshine with the showers tomorrow.

Hope there will be some sort of rain proof cover at the sausage sizzle.

chanceyy - is your post of 4 May still valid (sorry but do not want to wade through the many pages of this thread)? Any new updates that I should pass on to our Masterton group?

    I hope it is lol
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

The way the weather is going I'm going to have to leave my decision to ride to the last minute. Can't ride if the weather keeps up like this.

It was pissing down like hell before I typed that reply. Besides I don't have proper wet weather gear so I wont risk damage to myself or bike if the weather is shit. Plus I suck at rising in the wet weather as I've had far too many close calls on those dam road markings

If weather turns to to shit then I'll just turn up and make a donation and hang around a bit.

On ya ! Ridings never fun in crap weather, (unless your mad) Be good to see numbers there, even if its just to eat the sausies !
Have had a word to the weather gods and i'm sure they'll listen ! Will still be wet patches on the ride (but at this time of the year they don't dry up at all) so all care should be shown in those areas !

I hear ya dude, no sense in putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation when your concerened about binning it, fair call. The donation will be gratefully received none the less though i'm sure.
Keep in mind though mate, it's not a race and slow and steady will be just fine on the day.

    Well said sarge,

this is definately not a race and care is needed, the weather is definately on the improve tomorrow.

I know some ppl are planning on coming to PT's in the morn .. then coming to the hangar in the afternoon as well .. but do not want to do the ride .. that is fine as well

there will not be any pace on this ride .. The novice/slow riders will be leaving 20 mins prior to the main bunch, and I do not envisage the two groups meeting until we all regroup again at Ballance for the final ride back to Palmy

All I can ask is that everyone is respectful of the event and the other riders around them. I would hope that everyone gets into the spirit of the occassion and takes it easy on the ride .. after all we do not want a call out

Oscarnz has also offered to host a BBQ at her place later in the day for those KB members and it will be a chance to relax and have a debrief and mingle for those who come .. just bring your own meat & beverages

All I know is that a few stiff drinks will be in order & I have my bed already booked for the nite ..
