BADD and MT College Battle of The Bands

    30 July 08

Battle of the Bands - Inter Schools Only.

Thanks to Marie Purchase, Tracey Carter, the Brave volunteer Teachers, Security, and Mount Maunganui College for hosting this - with all proceeds going to house the BADD Trailer.

This is an issue that affects us all at every age, and much credit to the young group organising this.

We have been assured that every effort will be made to make this event alcoholfree and there has been no history at past Battle of the Bands of highjinx outside the venue.

BADD is very proud to be associated with these fantastic young people and their special event.

We respect the effort and the acknowledgement - that these young people are concerned in regards to drink driving and wish to be apart of a change.

Part of BADDs mandate is to educate, and working side by side with young people and with local Highschools is one way to instigate change in generational thinking.

There will be prizes - along with other companies - donated in conjunction with BADD and Bayride.

We at BADD wish all competitors the best of luck.

Id like to thank everyone personally for your involvement, and hopefully witness some fantastic up and coming local talent.
    See you there.

For all interested there will be a report at www.badd.co.nz on this afterwards.

    Rock On

I think they'll do well at this challenge. They have been witness to a bit of heartache this year. And they have come to me with such maturity. Im quite impressed!

Fantastic bunch of wee dudes, I think its a worthwhile venture, and very much in keeping with where BADD is partially heading.

Aaaah yes, the good ole days

Nah mate - although I cannot possibly imagine what the future could hold, Im an at home Mum, with alot of rather large hobbies, the only capacity Ill be educating in is (oh boy now you got me started!)....why we need to call 111 and *555 when witnessing erratic driving, the consequences of allowing friends and family to drive drunk, the consequences on neglecting to make plans when out on a night on the tiles.

And to highlight what a smash at a 220km impact can do to a persons body and mind, motorcycles and families. Simple stuff.

And of course all research I find in the recidivism treatment area and info on Interlocking Devices and success around the word and in particular Australia, in their reduction of recidivism.

Wonder if any of my old teachers are still there... I know my old music teacher got fired but in saying that, he taught me alot. And
I'll always respect him for what he taught me. Id skip classes to go work on compositions!!! ohhh those were the days where my friends and I should have got our asses kicked but he was a softie.
