yeah....I know... that was another thing that put me off, not that I agree with it.
It's kind of like an R1 owner saying that a V-Max is not a proper Yamaha or vice-versa just because they don't like that bike/range, it's either a Harley or it isn't.....whether it's an AMF Harley, Aermacchi Harley custom or regular old plain Harley in my book.

A harley thats got power and brakes(not so much handling).
even if its water cooled and not a 45degree v.

seen alot of patched gangs with em.(most likely stolen or bought with drug money).

Even a couple of mates have got them,
cause its a Harley with 115hp.

Still don't sound as nice debaffeled but.

Totally agree - the only real debate is how much money/time would you want to invest into that particular project?
Throw enough of both at anything and you could build something really trick, but where do you draw the line? I'm betting you could buy one of those Wakan's cheaper than what you'd end up throwing at that thing, and you'd have a new bike not someone elses nightmare..

How longs a piece of string?Passion is what passion is i guess, ive been throwing $ at an old has been for years because thats what i enjoy doing,my reply to one who Questioned why throw money at "that old piece of shit" was "same reason you still buy your wife birthday presents".Fuck me with the bits i have in my shed plus the old pusser i could go out and buy a new bike but i wont be.Different strokes etc i guess. If someone has talent and enjoys doing something then creating something rather than writing a cheque impresses me more anyday.Though thats just my opinion.Fwiw not saying i have that much talent just know a few that do.

And while a Wakan is a cool bike it's also just another bought bike instead of a radical cool one-off custom that nobody else anywhere will have.

Each to their own I guess but being a hot-rodder the custom idea appeals to me more.

Not totally disagreeing with you guys (98tls & scumdog) about the custom side of things, I can understand the satisfaction of creating your own personalised ride. I'm more concerned about buying someone else's half built ruin as in my experience this sort of thing usually has a lot of hidden costs involved due to mistakes/cock ups and general dodgy engineering that is usually only revealed once you start getting into said project.
At least with the old girl you have in the shed 98tls (insert bike or mrs here, lol) it's all yours and you know exactly what's been done to it after all this time. I have a car that is exactly the same scenario
