Area to break bike in?

Hi, I have a new 2007 XR650R that needs breaking in, where can one to this in peace in the Auckland area. The bike will be dual sported soon. Is there organised rides for the DRZ, KLR, XR's? Apologies for all the questions, new japie onboard, moved from the CRF stable to the XR stable, and no, I don't want to talk about the rugby, lol!

Auckland is so built up, I found I had to go a long way out. I'd like to know of a good place too. Recently drove Nth West keeping an eye out, but ended up at Woodhill bike park. Stopped in to let them know what I was doing. Ran in bike a bit further up road on straight section.

Used Riverhead another time. A few Kms past where Waitemata club holds forest rides, nice straight bit of gravel. Both are 'public' roads but not busy and out of the way.

I seem to remember a possible place out near the airport that's well off the beaten track. Might be worth a look.

I'm thinking about posting a couple of 'unconventional' ideas on exhausts. If I get around to doing it I think I'll say I got these ideas from Reckless, don't blame me. Hoowah!

Hi mate, congrats on the new bike, I can't help with riding areas near Auckland, but check out the Adventure/Dual Purpose forum next door for the on-offroad stuff.
