    Judging from your initial post I wouldn't go 'eBay it'. You have no idea how difficult it is to replace a motherboard in a notebook. That said I could probably do it.

    For e.g. here's an exploded parts diagram of a notebook I was contemplating dismantling because the power connector jack was fucking out:



    In the end I sold it.

    No, we did try it out. Liked the product, but rejected it as at the time we could only get it on subscription. Didn't like the idea of effectively being locked in to someone elses whim.
    I will however look at it again as I see you can now buy a license outright.

    New motherboard purchased from the States. Should be approx. $200 landed Compared to a second hand one for $350 here. Thanks for the tips and help so far guys!
