Agreed.
A couple of years ago we had some real shitbags on our street. You name it they did it. Too much grog on the weekend and the older couple living there would get into it, she was as bad as him often fighting over nothing. Most times it ended up with the cops being called. Broken glass everywhere, fighting in the street, threats to the neigbours. At least we were not living next to them.
Then one day she showed up with a black eye, the cops were onto it in a flash and arrested him for 'male assaults female'. They took three van loads of party goers away that night. The woman refused to press charges but the nurse who treated her injuries reported it.
It turns out that you do not need the victim to come forward to get a prosecution. He got a very small jail sentence out of it but the main deal is that he is a convicted wife beater for ever.
That is what I would like to see happen to Veitch. No counselling bollocks, no 100k payoffs. He should be charged and if convicted do the time. Let the 12 jurors decide.
It'll be interesting to see if that happens here. Some might arugue that it'll be 'trial by media' but frankly that's his problem. If you don't beat on your woman then you won't have any trial at all. As for 'compensation'; I'm willing to bet he tried to buy her silence and simply wanted it to all go away but it hasn't. He's been found out, good job. Furthermore, he should be charged not just with assault but also with perverting the course of justice (or similar)for trying to buy his way out of it.
well in that case she should be charged too, she took the money, and from what i know she hasnt made any complaints to the justice system.
NZ is quick to get up in arms and try and help people who dont want help. how about forgetting about this celebrity case and spend all the time, money, and resources on all those victims of domestic violence that dont get any compensation and are crying out for help.
and money has been accepted for years to get out of criminal charges, heard of Micheal Jackson?
if he gets charged and convicted the most he will get would be an ankle braclet.
You have to treat your woman like you treat your creidt cards.
ROUGH!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
Have not read all the posts on this but as to the thread title I find the Tui adds offensive. They are capitilising on a violent assault on a woman to sell a product that is well documanted for causing violence. If I was the woman concerned I'd be making a public statement that Veitch had been drinking Tui's at the time of the time of the assault. That would cause the company such embaressment that they would pull down the bill boards real fast.
On the subject of Veitches so called apology I find his utterences on this self serving. On one hand he accepts that he 'lashed out' "Yea right " (broke her back and put the woman in a wheel chair) then makes excuses that he was over worked etc. He's a fuckin low life..........period. Cunt needs locking up for life.

Correct and a good point but we'll just have to wait and see. The woman in Veitch's case hasn't told her story to the police and until she does, she and he are the only two who know what really happened.
The hospital were told she fell down the stairs so medical evidence - which is private information - will be difficult to get.
Veitch hasn't confessed to anything except "lashing out" which could simply mean nasty words. No assault admitted to.
Still, I suspect there will be a lot of pressure on the police, and Veitch himself - so there could be a sequel in Court. However - Chris Kahui walked free.......
I doubt if there will be any prosecution..........mainly for lack of witnesses.
If Veitches ex girlfriend has lied for her silence and accepted $100,000 for this she will be crucified in the cross.
Ralston said last night that he will not be back on TV. Which poses an enourmous problem for TVNZ in respect of Labour laws. Imagine the furore if Veitch is paid off.
Off topic this, but the Maori Party is still backing Fox in light of his violent offending against woman. No wonder the county is fucked of values. As a nation we don't have any consistancy on this any more. This shows itself in the Tuie Bill boards. Disgracefull.

He didn't actually confess to much Skunk.. MisterD has it right...
VERY carefully prepared.....
Kind of right...
But the treatment providers haven't come forward, and probably can't - patient/doctor confidentiality type of thing. She "apparently" told them she fell down the stairs.... Unsure how the nurse did the above, but good on him/her.
Beat me to it Winston...
Michael JACKSON, OJ SIMPSON and Chris KAHUI were innocent? YEAH... RIIIIIGGGHHHHHHTT.
Saw a Tui Billboard up this way today....it reads....
Kiwibikers know everything........![]()
