    Congratulations!

A quiet word in Rachel's ear, though - if she ever gets lonely over in Nippon, she needs to find the foreigner hangouts in her area rather than trying to, er, 'integrate'.

Based on Japanese condom sizes and a few odd subtitled porn movies which I'd really rather forget, I'm pretty sure that Japanese men have really small willies.

I do understand. I look forward to the day when my grown kids pay for dinner as well...

How is it that every time the kids call, money seems to creep into the conversation? My wife and I laugh "How much did this call cost us this time?" Gotta love 'em though, 'cause you can't sell 'em or eat 'em...

I usually just drag out the conversation to see how long it takes before the inevitable question pops up:

"Dad, I need ________ (fill in the blank) for school, the car, whatever and I have been working really hard, but can you help me out, please, I know you said you wouldn't, as I am working, but blah, blah, blah..."

I usually give in (or split it with them), my wife hits me, tells me I spoil the kids and I swear to not give in again, next time.

Just in case you're not aware, the process for the JET (English teaching) programme takes absolutely ages, i.e apply in Oct/Nov for starting work the following July/August.

She cant come home! I can not graze 3 horses and house her working dog...LOL.

She has a really good job at the moment, and has her horses being grazed in return for giving riding lessons to a grandson. She has finally managed to get her ex to leave the house and has 2 flatmates on board. She reckons by the end of the year she will have her debt clear and be able to actually make some serious plans.

She has always wanted to go to Japan and teach, so she will probably look at that next year. There is a huge amount of very well paid work there if she wants to take it.

Lots of horse work over there as well. congats on her BA

japanese is not the easiest the learn, I had to learn it very fast a few years back by living over there, on a Horse farm, I do believe KIWI's ( Due to the Maori language) pick up speaking Japanese easily, as the sound is the same

Rach tells me it is a lazy mouth language, with lots of tonal sounds like Maori. I can still hear her talking to her host father on the phone when she got back to NZ and been blown away.
Rach is big time into her horses, and did a stint of jockey training a couple of years ago. She does a bit of part time work up here for a riding establishment that host Japanese tour parties for rides. I have no idea what whe will end up doing, but picking the Japanese and horse thing will be the mainstay of it.
