My road bike is getting a strip down and refurbish at the moment so I'm on the MX bike only but I'm in the East.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Need a good pub. One that doesn't get all antsy about lots of bikers descending on it (doubtless intent on smashing the place up and raping the bar maid, in too many minds).

    Panmure has a few.

    And then a club night.

Auckland has been sadly bereft of biker meeting places these many years, apart from Bar Africa .

Sounds good ! Once I figure out why my ride won't start

Was off work last week so didn't ride, jumped on yesterday morning and the motor turns over (and over an over....) but it just won't fire. At 6:30 in the morning I'm sure the neighbours were getting pi$$ed off.
If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning

Ohagan's is my favourite local pub. Its on the Pakuranga Highway. Pretty easy to find.

Does Manukau somehow count as East Auckland? If so I'm dead keen! I've always wished there were a meeting place around here, especially a destination/bar to get some foodage after a good hearty ride!

I wholeheartedly support this route! Perfect length to get a ride out of your system and finish up at the pub (anyone found one yet? )

Great idea. It seems nobody was quite sure how to do it so since i come from bucks Beach (but currently Welly), I've started the East auckland riders Social Group for you guys. You guys have some of the best rads in the whole auckland region out whitford, Hunua, Clevedon and Maraetai to name just the close ones. The whitford pub's not bad either but not too flash for having a beer and riding home from.

The Cock an Bull Botany is quite suitable. Usually three or five bikes outside at different times. Plenty parking, enuff judder bars to practise wheelies on entry etc.
    It is what it is

Miss q's panmure but dunno what time it closes during the week...

Another option is use a garage at someones place or something *coughs* (even got a burn out pad)

As for the route, yep its one of my favourites for a short blat and its not too far away not only that, there are tight twisties, and you have to really nana it in some corners... great for newbies too hehehe!!!

I wouldn't mind the Cock and Bull, or Whitford Pub... whatever has the nicest chips! Kinda would prefer something like Whitford Pub, still got some nice roads to do on the way home, rather than Te Irirangi Road for 84219234 km (for me, anyway)

Ye Cock and Bull sounds OK. Remember summer is coming and they have tables outside we can sit at in our leathers etc. We don't have to go to same place everytime. Headin Home might be another choice but I reckon if we are the East Group we should be meeting somewhere in Whitford, East Tam, Howick or Pakuranga.

Shit I'll have to get on with the bike refurb!

It is desireable that the pub should be central and as close to 'home' as possible.

Bear in mind though that pubs who are happy enough to have 2 or 3 bikers there sometimes take a different attitude to 20 or 30.

Need a pub with decent food , too.

'Cock and Bull' is good, as a pub.
