Ridden the non-factory, bloody amazingly flickable from side to side, it really is difficult to describe how easy it is. Basically, you can flick the bike from side to side before the corner, during, and after it.

It didn't even have 100km on the clock, so this could be incorrect, but the one negative I found was that punch wasn't instant as soon as you cracked the throttle, definite delay between twisting throttle and getting response.

It even turned a sedate mate into quite a zippy person, who didn't realise they were riding at more than the speed limit (unusual for him). Seat may be a little hard, and gripping the tank is very hard (its plastic), but it comes with an ecu set limiter during run in period, and long warranties... very nice bike.

well its simlar to our rsvr, service limits are every 10,000kms, but bit more expensive than a average jappa service (our 10,000kms cost $300)

    ohlins front, rear, steering damper
    bremo this bremo that.
    oz light weight rims

Its not huge hp in todays standards(be 125-130hp @ rw really) , but being a big vtwin tons of torques on tap, and with the moto-x style bars they are easier to throw around (compared the rsvr),

Downsides - they have rear brake issues, and clutch issues (just needs to be bleed every few 1000kms, a 20sec job)

But on the plus side its got all the bling parts, throw some pipes air filter, and just ride the thing

have a look at http://www.apriliaforum.com for more detailed information

EDIT - forgot to add with the factory r you have to deal with that horrible goldish frame

    Just to clear something up.
The Tuono 1000R is the base model.
The Tuono Factory R is the one you've pictured.

    Thumbs up

Awesome machines but do recommend a -1 front sprocket to wake it up somewhat. Cheapest "horse power" you can buy.
It's a fantastic road bike and no doubt a shyte load of fun at the track!

That is true but with a quick bit of math you can see that it pans out well due to fewer services.

Yep the rear brake is an arse to bleed but once you have the knack it's no biggy.
Re the clutch...get it rekitted (about $40 from memory) and that issue gets resolved.

yeah rear brake no biggy really, just one of those strange quirks they have.

Clutch issues seam to be hit and miss, later models have the bigger jet that fixed earlyer models, but still have same issue, but not hard to crack the master cyldiner nipple once every 1000kms keeps it fine.

the clutch issue was to do with a certain batch number of (the earlier) Brembo master cylinders. the aprilia forum had the numbers on there a while ago, do a search and match it to the number stamped into your master cylinder.

yep shouldn't have a problem with the mx style bars be easy throw around, and not as drain as clip-ons, throw a packrack on it and your set, We did a 3 weeks tour SI on our rsvr no real problems
