Bugger. First weekend off from either going in to work or working on the rental and the weather craps out. Oh well! Maybe it is telling me that I should give the bike some TLC. Been rather neglecting her lately with only doing the commute in to Wellytoon.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Just as well too as some dunderhead dumped diesel all over the road. There were cars falling off all afternoon

True to my promise, I slept in, didn't ride, and did some work on the house instead.

Best bit was we hardly got hit by the wind at all last night compared to a typical night in the Welly area.
    Cheers

Yip, worked on the house on Saturday, went to the movies on Sunday - it was just one of those weekends it wasnt worth getting the bike out.

So what is wrong, is your top triple clamp sitting rather crooked when you are riding along. I presume Motomart would have loosened everything off and tried to tweak it in the right direction.

Usually a crash causes this kind of thing and worst case scenario your forks could be bent. Support the bike, loosen everything off, including the steering stem and the clipons and then rotate the fork tubes and you'll soon see if there is a problem there. If not you should be able to tweak the top triple in the right direction in relation to the bottom one until you have it all lined up, then tighten everything up again. Easier said than done I know. On the dirt bikes its easy with the bars fastened to the top triple, but no such luck when you have clipons because as soon as you loosen the clamps there's nothing to lever with.
    Cheers

yeah if it was motocross bike it would be eaisy i would have bent the bars wen i was lying face down in some mud somewere lol
but seriosly yes the tripple clamps are both inline but when riding in straight line they are about 5mm to the right i have measured this and there is some wear on the trye to suport my theory. when i took it to motomart who were dne in record time said theyd found the problem being a loose/ damaged bolt on the clip on so problem sorted , so i thaught and i have convinced my self the prolem was fixed but riding the other day im not so sure
am 100% sure no accdent bike only had 1 owner b4 me and he seem prety honst was a older fella with a big box of recepts for everything apparently in the 90's gas was around 80 cents per ltr eh: but it was mentend at some stage it did fall over in garage hence a slightly difretnt wing mirior i was thinkin mabie the front faing was out but me measuring back from center point in tank to clipons is still out???

Its not just your dashboard sitting a bit cockeyed is it making the steering look crooked?

If not, from you description if the triples are in line then surely must be bent forks, but that shouldn't happen just falling over in a garage.

    Hi Nico,

Any news on your maligned bike? The worrying comment you made was in reference to the tyre wear you noticed. I would definitely refer this back to Motomart and have them check your measurements.
