He (the seller) hasnt done anything wrong, even relisting is a pain in the ass once you think you've sold something. I would hate to be treated with such disregard.

Dude, put yourself in his shoes and then treat him how you would want / expect to be treated.
Exactly i sell stuff on trade me i would be pissed off big time if you did that to me Be a man , take the bike honour your word . i.e how would you like it if you fell off your bike one day and the rest of us rode by and didnt stop to help - think about that . Hands up who agrees with that

Like most right thinking posts here... you've gotta man up. Do the right thing. Either pay up and own it or be honest with the seller and pay his success fee and his re adevertising fee. Don't reneg like some have suggested... that just low life!

    You own it-period.

As someone who has had this done to them on trade me ( weasel out ) i know what its like.
He may have since commited to buying another new bike with the cash from the sale of this bike expecting you to honor your commitment.

Sorry, but I just don't get this. You promised to pay a certain amount of money for a certain item. Why would you do that if you had no intention of carrying out your promise? What kind of character are you?

    You own the bike now.

Edit ya first post mate ! Let ppl know what your doing about it, or ya gonna continue to get flack from those who dont read further than the first post and then missread it anyway ! Then red rep ya for it, Struth talk about a pack of wolves !
Way i see it ya liked the look of the bike and are looking for one !
The bikes prolly a good one, at a not so bad a price !
If it is a rat and has problems that are not mentioned on trade me, then the seller is selling it under faulse rar de raaaaa and you have an out, if not then good score !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

And now you want to dick someone else around.
Enjoy 'cashing in' the building karma points....you deserve them.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

its not about a pack of wolves

It is about a group of people (not members as kiwibiker is not a club) that all agree the actions undertaken are unacceptable.

Often I have seen unacceptable behaviour expressed on kiwibiker with alot of people saying they object and then the whole thing turned round as a sympathy bid for the offender because "you shouldnt judge people"

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

    What actions Lance ?
The fact he made a blunder ?
Or the fact he posted on here to see if there was any way out of making said blunder ?
Or perhaps it was the fact he said he may have to wear the consequence of his stupid mouse click ?
They seem to be the only facts here ! Alot of posts condemning him here when it clearly states that he will most prolly have to grin and bear his mistake !
I agree with you that bidding on an auction winning it and then reneging is not the thing to do !
If the blunder is made, then he owns the bike unless he and the seller come to an arrangement ! Which this guy has said he will do, ring the seller !

If he or someone goes to test ride the bike and its a clunker and is not as described on trade me, he is within his rights to wave it !~

Bidding on trademe is a legal contract, it is sanctioned and official - read their policy.

If the seller should want to, he can take this to a disputes tribunal or whatever the particular court is suppose to be

Stop trolling, you were pressing bid to see where the reserve is. If your bids aren't going to be genuine, wait until the thing has closed and it might tell you.

But in reality this is no different to call us a pack of wolves.
No one bit him, no one tore him to shreds. Very many pointed out that he would be wrong to not honour his bid and many disagreed with subsequent posts advising him how he could avoid his obligations.

Who are these wolves to which you referred please?
