So glad you raised this little matter, as i was just going through the attendance list, (scrap of paper i scrawled on).
If possible, could one of the Akld crew who has ridden down to the bach put their hand up to lead the crew there. (I'll post any route suggestions that are needed, but may I suggest the tried and true Te Paptapu, or old Kawhia Rd, (the one with the two small streams).
The ride around the Raglan coast is also an enjoyable one for those who havn't tried it. Use Ruapuke Rd to get you back to the Te Mata settlement, which is the starting point for the previous mentioned routes.

I will head sth a bit to meet up with Mike (young1) and crew somewhere, and lead them nth. Any amilton crew who would like to join this ride please do.
Rosie, Duncan, and any others from slightly east may want to rendevous with me somewhere.
I will probably do a supply run/mattress drop off on Tues night, and Kanny will be driving out Sat morning with food etc.
So lets get our travel routes sorted, then we can relax a bit.

    Those coming:
    tri boy offroad Phreakyphil
    kanny Cary MotoXnut
young1 Rosie Crisis, (what you up to)?
    Qkkid Bams Trustme?
    qkchic Dino3310

Suggest the AK mob meet at the Autobahn on the Sthern m'way south of the Papakura turnoff. Be there ready for a 9.00 am sharp kick off.
I'll ring Crisis , one of us will get the short straw or maybe I'll just volunteer him
What time do you want to meet up , We'll probably stop at Raglan for lunch & puncture training , now I know we need Crisis along.

That i'll be great. Thanks. Young 1 & I have just been looking at maps & looks like we meeting others in Ohura then on to PioPio. Plenty of alternatives from there. Last time we came to Kawhia, (May 08) there was bridge out between TeAnga & Kawhia. I assume that is still out. Mind you, its an awesome detour via TeAnga and Te Koraha. Looking forward to it. Its got to stop raining some time. Doesnt it !!!!

Ohura for the first southern meeting point.

OK, Ohura is the meet point for the Naki/sth crew.
I'll ride down Sat morning with any out of Hamilton who wish to come. 11.00am is the unoffical Ohura time at this stage. This should give everyone time to get there, and also time to enjoy the ride nth.
Piopio would be the next sensible meeting point, as it's a fuel stop, and also just off main hwys.

The Harbour Rd bridge is now operational, but Hauturu Rd is closed due to a big slip.
I will try to confirm with the various district councils what back roads are open, but we may need to change routes on the run. Lots of weather has dumped into the Waitomo/West Waikato these last weeks, so we can expect washouts, or slips at anytime.
Marks, if your heading up, try to hook up with young1/phil as the Waitanga rd is pretty cool, and then our run through the Waitewhena Valley to Piopio is also good.

We are trying to make 11amish the Ohura time.
Maybe Rosie (from Rotoiti) and offrd (from Toke) can form a posse with you.
The 11am might extend out to 12noon, but anything past that will have us pushing the time, rather than enjoying/stopping for pics/slowing for Scrambler riders.

    Bastid....
How about an 8.30 meet up, this gives us time for a coffee and chat and a bit of a sort out of suitable routes as we seem to have a bit of a mixed bag of "attendees".
Basic plan is gravel down the west coast, lunch at Raglan then more gravelly bits to kawhia. we can extend or shorten routes to suit the time frame and peoples riding "styles".

(note the polite use of a euphimism for "waiting for scramblers to catch up")

    Everyone happyish with that?

    Iain
