    Rimutakas still closed (10 August)

    Just read that the takas will remain closed today , but is anyone game enuff to take their bike up there

    It is open (Sunday 10th)

    Just got back from taking the Kids up in the car around mid day. Signs were still up saying 'road closed' but a steady line of traffic going over both ways put an end to that mis-information..

    Plenty of snow to play in at the top. A few bikes ventured up.

    I knew of a few people that came over that live on and around the hill - spose they have to get home somehow.

    Unfortunately, we seem to have missed winter 2008 down here. It was a tropical -7 this morning, and now we have a brilliant sunny day to follow. Look at the Remarkables shining in the sun.
