NC - Noobo Cop.
I don't mean to criticize the way you handled this situation.. I wasn't there, but I was wondering why you bothered tooting your horn frantically and keeping pace alongside the dipshit in the car.
Why not focus on the matter ( you've just been put on the wrong side of the road) and slow down and tuck back in behind the car. Next set of lights kick a tail light out or have a word with the driver (what ever makes you feel better).
Again, i wasn't there, and im not trying to be anti rant or anything. just pointing out another option :P
part panic part rage i suppose, i realised this option after the matter myself aswell, both options shouldnt have been needed however, i must have been in one of his blind spots when he pulled out, kinda wish i was in a car cos he would have gotten pounded hah..
but yeah, live and learn hehe
glad you got out of that one okay as well mate.. i have actually found taxi's to be notoriously bad, even worse than old ladies in mercedes.. i have a story about one of them too haha[/QUOTE]
Today, about 11.30 am.......me on my bike coming around a rather gentle blind corner, doing a sedate 50 or soI came face to face with a courier van stopped in the middle of my lane with his reversing lights on ! He wasnt even at the side of the road he was smack dab in the middle of it
reversing ! Thankgod I had my wits about me and I wasnt travelling very fast. You always have to be prepared for this kind of "unpredictable" behaviour on the road. Every close call or scare is a learning experience for you to think about, and at the end of the day review what (if anything) you could have done differently. Its really the only way to learn.
I ride a VL 250. A nice ride you will be happy with it but believe me THE BIGGER YOU ARE THE LESS THEY SEE YOU.
You still have to ride as if they are all out to get you.
Had a bitch, today, pulled out from a sevice station not 50 metres in front of me tonight as if I just didn't exist. Just for the record she was white european.
Bad drivers come in all colours and races.

Never rage.
Just exit any potential road rage situation - without getting riled yourself - U turn, ride up the gutter or footpath - whatever.
And then smile deeply on the inside because you have won - and won handsomely - regardless of the circumstances.
Put that gem between you and your helmet.
also true, though i think the rage came much later than the panic
