The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Oh man that's a sad one.

Sorry I laughed out loud but f-me if there is not a funny side - that's the type of shit you see on those 'funniest home videos' TV shows.

Are you sure the neighbours did not set you up for this?

As above its a serious dork of a cement layer to not put up a barrier - If you need any repairs etc have chat to the drive layer - mention words like OSH....

Look on the bright side. How many other times can concrete cushion your fall?

:slap: Its just been one of those rides for you huh? As some of the more colourful personalities on this site would say ... "it all adds to the grand patina of life, a mosiac of movie-like qualities in a pastiche of kaleidoscope movements" or some such reference.

Good on you for riding anyway and giving us a groan and a giggle ... there but for the grace of the biker gods go I ...

That is classic, so true. My fall was cushioned by a nice soft layer of concrete!

In reply to everyone, I think it is very funny now.
After I got the concrete out of my gear and washed off the bike, I went and apologised to the neighbours, but was too late to help them fix the concrete.

    So all is well.
Off on the Bluebridge ferry tomorrow, then south to Home Sweet Home.

It IS funny! But poor you

I suppose it would be mean to say something like "gee you're a hard man" or "the neighbours need to harden the fuck up", or "the whole situation was cut and dried", or "determining fault wasn't black and white - it was a bit of a grey area", or "it was entrapment", or "sorry you got stuck like that" ..... Ok shutting up now
