    DR650 Screen

I'm after a screen for my DR650. Any recommendations? Anybody use the NZ Godiva brand screens advertised on tardme?

Does godiva do 1 for a dr then? I have an Eagle from WA: good screen and their price and service was great!

Godiva's advert on trademe says that they do a screen for DR. I don't know of anyone who uses one.

Interesting, if you get one I'd like to check it out sometime.
BUT.... note that the earlier DR650s have a flatter headlight area than the newer versions so double checking of its fit might be required.

I'd like a look at those photos when they send them Nordie.

The Eagle screens come in 3 sizes 300mm / 360mm / 400mm for AU$145 / AU$155 / AU$165. Which one do you have DucatiJim? Does it remove the wind pressure at 100 Km/hr?

To resolve this issue (before I started chopping down screens...) I borrowed a real estate sign or, if you have some coreboard stuff lying around you can skip that step, and taped it to the existing "screen". After half an hour of tearing up and down the motorway and alternately cutting bits off and taping bits back on I knew how high a screen I needed.
It is very dependant on the individual, everyones a different height and seating position so it is worth spending a bit of time trying stuff out rather than expecting a proprietary item to be perfect.

Mines a 360mm Wan, for a shortarse 5'10" chump like me it does remove that feeling of having ur arms ripped puta their sockets at 'cruiseing' speeds! I can travel all day without any discomfort.

Thanks DucatiJim, for an even shorter arsed 5'7" I reckon the 360mm will be fine for me. Eagle sent me a few more photo's of their screens on other DR650's. They look pretty good, I'll get one ordered.

Screens - not really what I thought they were

Good idea, I thought screens were rubbish till I was given a sit up bike(VX800) with a givi screen by my brother. I thought the screen was too small and silly looking and would be thrown off until I actually rode it. The wind hit my sholders and helmet but there was a negative pressure zone in front of me caused by the screen, meaning i didnt have to use any muscle at all to hang on. The faster you go the more wind against your sholder/head the stronger the suction in front so whatever speed you do it meant resting your hands on the bars instead of hanging on for death!!! At very high speeds you do get sore neck muscles but I would put a screen on my DR if i was touring. I think most people inexperienced with screens think like i did that they were actually for wind protection, but they are more for balancing you by creating a low pressure area in front of you, although you can duck down when is starts to pour rain.

    Yep.
Just enough screen to take the pressure off your chest/shoulders.
