Ah weell ma fine gillie a've niver bin ona track so its tempting to try. I don't mind being at the back on the corners, that's where I need to practise, and have every confidence on close to 11 sec quarter miles on the straight-away

I'll stick to the good ol' Pukekohe & Taupo track days from now on...just have to get there and borrow a bike that's all......
Ruapunas a heck of alot closer & theres a trackday this coming Sunday 31st.
Plus if your worried about being dealt to by blokes with overly large nads, then try the C class where you can only pass on the outside on the straights

Ruapuna is in the far north...y'know...Canterbury....even further north than Otago (I hear they talk funny up that way and don't roll their Rs )

Teretonga is only 10 minutes away from me. 5 if the cops are somewhere else.

It wasn't a racing class or anything like that just a "have a go" day. The organisers did say no overtaking on the inside but obviously some guys just had to get their tackle out and wave it around eh?

Turn 1 at Teretonga is the most awesome corner on any of our tracks

It used to be possible to hire Teretonga during the week, can you still do that?

Ok, sussed out the story. Understandably they don't let any hoon out on the track so it's possible to hire it but there is a process.

The simple way is to go to an organised track day as per the Chatto Creek one.

The other option is that if you have a competition license, you can get the key at $70 per half day. I've just talked to a guy in the car club who takes his kids out to go go-carting and it costs him sod-all - think he has a key anyway. But for non-club members, gotta join a bike club and/or get the comp license.
