Changing the base gasket height will alter the port timing as well and therefore engine characteristics. Eg by lifting and/or lowering the barrell your not just changing the compression pressure your changing when the piston passes the ports and therefore when they open and close and thats a whole different ball of wax!

what a guy aye! I've never red rep'ed anyone and never had any! I guess I'll just have to go return the favour!

Maybe you guys would like to join me!
Lets back the bus up a bit.

You waded in getting all pissy over a completely innocuous comment made by me simply because you're a avid member of the I Hate Katman Club.

If you don't like getting it, don't throw it around.

And your little recruitment campaign is truly fucking pathetic.

Your posts are all the recruitment encouragement needed.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Firstly I wasn't any member of any hate Krapman club (till now). Secondly telling someone "he couldn't have made it any worse" on a bike he's just spent a lot of money buying, riden for 2 hours and its totally lunched itself "top and bottom end" was bloody Crappy.
Then when I simply commented that it "wasn't fucken helpful" you get all personal by telling me to "get my head out of my arse". Even then in response I didn't attack you personally and just told you to "Fuck off" back to the rest of KB if you didn't have anything constructive to input. Then you red rep me and tell me "to go fuck myself".
Which the wife walks in and see's and wonders why I'm hangin out in the place with guys like that. Now she thinks all KBer's are a bunch of wankers and I can't have my user CP up on my other monitor incase one of my kids comes in and spot it as well.

So I suppose your proud of yourself now! Made your pitiful day has it! You are a hypocrite mate! Maybe you should conduct yourself socially the way your always preaching to others on how they should ride.
And with reference to calling "one comment" a campaign against you! Get a life mate! Your not that important! If people feel like supporting a guy who has been generally helpful, given lots of technical and safety advice and organised all the "Dirt Division T Shirts" by red rep-ping you they should feel free to do so. Maybe they could help me by green rep-ping me (which we do very little of in the Off road forum) so your disgusting comment goes further down the list and gets hidden from view.

So don't tell me to back up my fucken bus! I can give it and take it with the best of them mate! We'll let the others be the judge! This has waisted enough of my time!

    You reap what you sow!

Now maybe we should get back to helping Tommorth as Krapman has turned this thread into a sham!!

You do have a reputation around KB to uphold I suppose???
Don't be a homo, you don't need many brain cells to rub together to see what he meant

/edit: Just read your last post... take your pills loser... 'You couldn't make it any worse' perfectly describes the situation. Well, unless it flies outta the lathe and cracks in half on the bosses Merc

Back On Topic.........My head in my cr125 was not that flash either and all i did was "sand" the high spots down and banged her back in and have had ZERO problems so far........I think if the piston wont hit or a bit wont fal off and your not overly anal you should be ok and as far as any performance drop goes well if you can feel it you need to start finding sponsers etc and start riding pro

Side note why the heck are non-offroaders even bothering to post rubbish in here i sure as hell dont even look at the on-road forums let alone post maybe i should hehehehe
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses

im confused about that one too; im not sure what it is exactly that draws them in here with their bullshit, and im still waiting for the day when someone from the on road side of things comes into the offroad area and says something productive.

maybe a look at the video in the following link could help

I don't stay in 'my own area'...rather I read threads with titles that seem interesting. I thought this one was about taxidermy. I can't add anything to the helpful suggestions on repair of the OP's slightly battered head, but I can suggest that if it is repairable, then the smoother the job is, the less a drop in performance. Can the dents be filled? And then the whole thing get gently ground back to smooth, maybe with a dremel.
