    Tailgating bastard...

Coming to work this morning (via Ohaupo, Kaipaki, Cambridge and back to Hamilton)...on SH 1 heading north from Cambridge, in a long line of traffic, just clearing the passing lane when I see in the rearview mirror, some dork in a green Holden of some sort, come barrelling up behind, passing everything behind me despite the passing lane coming to an end. Thought he was gonna try to hop me as well but he decided against that...(phew)....But of course he then chose to drive about two feet behind me..........all at 100km/h.....dropped back a little further from the car in front so I had more room stop safely if necessary, but of course, he stayed glued to the back mudguard.......needed a rear facing rocket launcher to get rid of him.....Fortunately, just around the corner was a straight bit of road, so I took GREAT pleasure in dropping down a couple of gears and blasting off past the whole line of traffic, leaving the bugger eating dust.....best part of the ride today....hehehe

I know thats what we are supposed to do, but I don't any more. Just carefully split past the car in front of you so now he's tailgating someone else instead of you. If anyone ever follows me too close I ditch them in about ooo about 1.5 seconds - end of problem.

As for splitting a whole line of traffic, yeah thats about the best part of motorcycling.

Was a bit much traffic to do that - I would have had trouble squeezing into the line........besides, rocketing past them all was much more satisfying.....

That is what the hole in the top of the triple clamp is for... holding old bolts that seem to "fly" over your shoulder...
