Well you still didn’t answer all the questions, not super keen on an answer? or just think that they aren’t important? Would have been interesting to know what the battery was reading in other states.

But what you have said is 12V even when revved. That sounds awful queer. 12V is flat. Either the regulator is regulating at a crazy voltage (don’t believe unless someone stupid has made one). Or the battery isn’t connected to the charging system.

Maybe Barty5’s coment which seemed like KTM were crazy was actually on the money. Try trawling the KTM websites like DRN.net they have a KTM category.

If they really were relying on you charging the battery every time then it’s new battery time (probably is anyway). As batteries dies they either increase in internal resistance & they can’t supply the current required or vibration kills the plates with much the same effect.
Don't you look at my accountant.

What i did point out was that mates bike being a EXC did have lights and ran enough through its system to run the lights. This of coruse can lead you to think there is a charging system as they did at 1st. I would be in touch with a dealer with chassis number and model have have them check save a lot of time and hassle looking for a fault that may not be a fault. (Other than a dumb KTM design fault)

I wasn't trying to dismiss you, it just sounded so far fetched, like the total afterthought. Not what you would expect from a factory at all.

ohh man does that mean it doesnt come with the super luxury exhaust and front and rear shockers

ok we took it for a ride on sat, and the starter worked perfectly all day, which is different to the week before when it would just turn over once or twice then go dead after just starting the bike in the first place
the only thing we did differently this weekend was charge the battery the night before instead of a few days before
if the battery was dead what would it read on a multimeter?
both batteries read 12v in the bike and this does NOT change at all with or wothout revving
the light gets brighter when the bike is revved though, so i think its fair to say that it does have some way of producing power even if this seems to be a new recent concept to the austrians
we may just go where no ones been

Well open voltage on a battery is a poor test, but should be 12.7 if it is fit, maybe sagging to say 12.4 after being left a day after charging for a small battery. But really it isn't as clear cut as that. If it is down to 12V that sounds pretty spent & obviously isn't holding a charge very long.

(if it was charging will run up to 14ish volts when revved a bit off idle).

was i meant to be specific it is about 12.7V then, but it definately doesnt change when its revved from idle

    no, thats chinese!
oh yea sorry, thats right so ill be importing the super luxury exhaust and shockers from china then, so i spose KTMs are rice eaters cuz they dont like japan than??
