Angry Bike stolen, Hastings, 13-14 September

A workmate had his Matte Black KAWASAKI ZXR250 stolen from his driveway in HASTINGS over the weekend. He was at home and it was wheeled down the drive and down the street. It's his only transport and has had to borrow a push bike to get to work.

Has VERY distinctive custom made Stainless Exhaust System on it, Right front fairing also has some damage if it hasn't already been torn off. Rear pillion seat also has damage with some padding shown.

Suspected 'removal' by some undesirable's who moved in next door not long after he put the new pipe on it. We think they may have considered it 'too loud' and had it dealt to.

    You'll definitely hear it coming.

If you could all keep your eyes peeled for it then that'd be great it's probably either in pieces by now or out of town.

Please PM me or post in here if you see or hear anything.

    Cheers

    Pat

What we should be concentrating on is the scum that actually buy the bits these bikes are broken down into, or buy the really cheapy deal from a friend of a friend! :ranting:

Hope your mate gets his bike back in some sort of salvagable condition, or a good insurance pay out if not.

    Sucks!

Umm what, i can agree with you that the people buying a "cheapy deal from a friend of a friend" deserve a kick. But how is anyone to know that the part they are getting of trademe is stolen. People that buy parts shouldnt be what anyone is concentrating on. The thieves doing the selling sure.

I agree, you cant know where parts are coming from when you trade on Retardme, but you can ask the question, and maybe look at the sellers other auctions? See what else they trade in, ask how they got the parts.

Would just like to add something here.

Please, could everyone stop fucking contributing to this bike theft by leaving juicy targets for the theives. Not only are you getting your own bike stolen but your endangering others by promoting a sense of reward and increasing the theives eagerness for future steals. It's what fucking pisses me off- most of these are some what preventable.

If you leave your bike unattended for any period of time at all- lock it up. That does not mean steering lock. I repeat- if the bike is outside for any period of time, please:

    A) chain it to something
    B) disk lock it (point the lock inwards towards the opposing brake disk as this makes it hard to pick locks.
    C) Do both A and B.

Even when my bike is at home in garage and i'm out- it's always 1.Chained exhaust headers to garage. 2. disk lock on and faces inwards. 3. combination lock around rear wheel and exhaust headers. No- i don't consider this going hard out or a big deal to do- 2 mins max.

Please, the more easy targets the more motivation for these fucking theiving cunts!

    That's all for now folks...
