Unlike Alexandria, where it's the total.

It is interesting that an out of towner would note the 'presence'.
It's probably the fact that there has been quite a heavy presence on the motorway system the last couple of days. Heavy enough for us regular users to take notice even.

SH 16 is a bit like Russian roulette. Obviously Thursday arvo/evening it's best to give a wiiiiiiiiiiide berth to that general area. During the week, before lunch doesn't seem to be too bad though.

Well there you go. I always read Alexandria, which is a particularly shabby and Industrial part of Sydney.

    I shall connote differently henceforth.

Totally agree- rediculous amount of police about in Auckland at the moment...

Was riding home the other day, in my innocent little suburb of Torbay and as I was about to turn down my road I see a police car in the distance coming towards me, I turn into my road and what do I know- the bloody siren goes off behind me 20m from my driveway... I pull in to my house anyway and pretend/hope that it was for someone else only to look over my shoulder and see 2 police cars screaming past and away! My suburb has got to be one of the most quiet and insignificant around here and last week I saw a police car everyday for 4 consecutive days at different spots on this same road.

Another instance the other day where I was trying to fix my dads bike which does not have a wof or current rego, fairings off and all. I went to test it around my area amongst these small and totally inconspicuous roads I would never dream of seeing a police car and to my complete disbelief my heart stopped as I turned a corner and there was a police car roaming about- i pulled into the nearest road to wait till he had pissed off which was probably a good 15 mins, started bike up again and pulled out of this back road only to find the f***** thing around the same area! Luckilly I got home without any incurred costs from the local constabulary.

In fact it's so bad now that I swear I haven't been for one ride recently with out at least seeing 1 police car. It's also bloody annoying because they are parked at the bottom of hills in concealment, in addition to patrolling the roads with REDICULOUSLY slow speed limits. I'm starting to stick to the small roads etc so I can't be caught out with any shit that they could quite possibly give to anybody at all on the road for a whole multitude of reasons.

I mean, I like seeing them pull over the fucking boy racers and that lark, but all I see is normal looking cars and drivers getting pulled over randomly and probably getting fined and ticketed large amounts of money for something small.

For christ's sake why can't they do something useful and stop these fucking disgusting, up to no good gangs and this increasing crime recently instead of patrolling the motorways for 10kmh speeders!!!

    Yeah - same here.
Small coastal town for 8 years.

Places are largely what you make them and the breaks that come your way.

    Yup, they're everywhere these days.

I had to tone my down my normal suburban crusing speed from 74 to 60.
