Was ratting around in a box of old photos that surfaced recently and found this shot of my 1974 250cc Benelli single.....was a great bike in its day - one of the most nimble I ever owned. Very low C of G due to horizontal engine...note the fluffy edge to the tank....designed by Pinninfarina believe it or not...but then that was the 70's......It did have the odd really seriously defective design feature as well......like the "flywheel magneto" ignition system...ngngngnrrrrrrrr..don't even ask about that........
At the time it looked so oddball that every cop in Christchurch pulled me up on any pretext to have a gawk at it.....I did get used to that eventually......so there ya go - a blast from the past.....
