Defensive Riding Courses - list and rating

I took a quick look see and couldn't find a list of official Defensive riding courses... I'm after that information and figure additional information like location, cost and a rating/evaluation would be worth while info too.

As I understand it RRRS is not an "official" program recognised by the authorities? I know it's bloody good... just not "official"

Anyone able to recommend a course here in Auckland PM me.

In terms of reducing time on your license, there is no "Official" course. The defensuve driving course you do is the same one cage drivers do from the AA.

But in terms of improving your riding skills, cant beat RRRS.

So if I book a defensive driving course for a car and then a bike, it will be the same one?

Entirely correct.
However official word from the AA is that if you have held both classes for more than six months at the time you do the course you only have to do it once.

so does that mean that even though i did my Defensive course for my car a while ago, because it was before i had my bike license, i have to do it again anyway if i want to reduce the time i'm on my motorbikes restricted??

edit - - just read a few other posts and found the answer - yes, i do.
Stink. Will have to get it sorted in time so i can take out the new RC8 in the dealership round the corner when i go to take my bike to get some work done

Yes, I did a course when I was 15 for my cage license and another one when I was 25 for the bike. Course that was 10 years apart but even if it wasn't they dont take it into consideration unless you were doing both licenses at the same time and have had them for atleast 6 months.
